car parking for free

I hate paying for car parking. A friend of mine suggested that I park at a Disney hotel and then use the buses to get to the parks. Can you do this. We have hopper park plus tickets, so we can use Disney Transport for free.

No you can't do this. If you go to park in a Resort, they will give you a parking pass for I think about three hours or so - long enough for you to have dinner there etc.

You can use Disney transport when hopping from one park to another this is included within your tickets.

You can park at Downtown Disney and catch a bus from there but it seems like a lot of hassle just to save a few $$

A few bucks for a whole days parking, worth it if you ask me, not worth the hassle of catching buses especially at the end of a long day.

I'm not sure you can get a bus to the parks from Downtown Disney - I think the buses only go to resorts from there. You could get a bus to a resort and then catch another bus to the parks from the resort, but this could take as long a 2 hours. Not really worth the hassle if you ask me.

Certainly for all resorts close to the parks, parking is limited to a couple of hours. When we went to All Stars, a form of ID got you in & there was no time limit on parking, but other than AK, it is quite a traipse to the park & not worth the hassle - and the bus is only ev. 20 minutes or so & there is no guarantee of getting on the first one when it comes to leaving the park.

Just to confirm what Tim says - you can no longer park at Downtown Disney and get a bus direct to the parks. Disney stopped this for this very reason!
