Car or Cart

We will be at FW for 10 days. We have a 7 day park hopper pass and will spend time at the Fort. Are there parking areas throughout the fort for a car or should we rent a golf cart for the time at the fort? We'd like to do some fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, and whatever else.

The only parking is short term, 15 min, at the Meadows outpost. You really can do everything your talking about using the internal busses to get around. Of course "looping" on the golf cart makes for a fun time as well. If you have the funds I'm sure you will hear alot of "rent the cart" comments.

We always take our bikes and we walk. We sometimes take the internal bus, but not too often. It's not far to walk anywhere on The Fort, unless you have trouble with walking in general, like my Dad. For him, the golf cart was more of a necessity.

we haven't taken a car since we got the cart. we really don't miss having the vehicle. to us being able to get around in the campground (whether by bike or cart) is more important.

Having just returned from our first visit to the fort if you are not taking bikes along get a cart if you are going to spending alot of your time there.
