We are going to Disney March 9-17 with a 4.5 and an 8 year olds and will be spending most of our time at the parks with the exception of maybe a few hours of outlet shopping. Should we just use the Disney busses (and get the free shopping shuttle from DT Disney) or rent a car for the week???? We have a rate of $165 including taxes and fees but I'm wondering if it's hard to get around Orlando??? and how long the waits are for busses after the parks close????

My biggest question is - will you have a stroller? If you answered yes - then rent a car!!! It is so hard to get the strollers on and off of the buses.

We always rent a car - mostly b/c of the stroller when the kids were little and now we are spoiled b/c it can take up to 1/2 hour for a bus to come. I like to know when I will arrive at the parks and the times I have relied on Disney Transportation - I have missed getting there at rope drop.

It really depends on how much control you want over your transportation!

We prefer the buses and like that we don't have to worry about driving around, parking, etc. Both DH and I drive A LOT for our jobs and enjoy not having to drive when on vacation.

However I do agree with the above poster in regards to strollers. My kids don't use a stroller anymore so I don't have to worry about it but I frequently see parents struggling with strollers on the buses.
