Car in SciFi

We are a family of 5 and when our kids were 4, 6 and 8 we fit in 2 rows. I am a small adult and sat with the 2 smaller kids and my husband is am average size adult and sat with the oldest. Alternatively all 3 kids sat together at one point.

All that to say depending on the size of the people in your party it may be doable.

I agree, the cars are very narrow but it’s a matter of the size of the people, not the number of people. If all 3 of your kids can typically fit in a space meant for 2 people, it will be fine.

Most we have done is 2 kids (9 and 4) and 1 adult in one row, a little tight but doable. 3 kids the ages you mentioned should be fine in one row. No more than 2 adults per row.

I would assume you want an adult per row with the ages of your kids.

1 adult, 2 youngest
1 adult, 8yo
2 adults

Should be fine, but that would be the maximum.

ARe there 3 rows? WE have 8 guests
Yes, 3 rows. With 8 guests (depending on age/size) I would expect to get one of the table cars. It is a table with chairs that face each other and the front end looks like a car.

There are some cars that are just a front and back with regular tables in between rather than the "row" format. These might be able to more easily accommodate a larger party.

For maximum comfort you're probably better of splitting up the party though.

We ate there with 8 people last summer. They did one car (3 rows of 2) for six of us, and then two of us sat in the last row of the car directly next to it. It worked out fine, but it wasn't conducive to conversation if that's a concern. To my knowledge, they won't put you in the free standing tables unless they ask you first or you specifically request it. They know most people are eating there for the car experience.

We are a family of 5 and were taken to one if the car tables on our second visit. Once I saw it I asked to wait for a car Booth and she very reluctantly let us wait, but it was a good 15 more minutes.
The flying saucers in the back are used for walk ups usually, but the car tables are sometimes used for bigger parties without them asking first.

That's a YMMV situation, likely dependent on the host and how busy they are. We've been asked if we wanted one of those tables or wanted to wait for cars, and we chose the latter. In busier circumstances, I'm sure they try to seat people there as often as they can to avoid having empty tables and a backlog of people waiting.
