Car hire

Currently looking to book car hire, has anyone booked with Carhire3000? and if so we're they ok?, we are flying to MCO on the 31st May and are looking to book a 7 seater Minivan.

Thanks Martina, I have looked at this website previously, along with many many others , just want to get it booked now as this is the last thing we need to do oh apart from Disney Tickets but they don't take long to sort

I know recommendations come easy on these boards, you know "I have used thenm and had no problems" etc. But I really have used them now for more than 50 car hires (Europe as well) and they are first class.... And now they have good rates too I would suggest calling though they are so nice.

Do they have better rates if you ring? I always use Airnet/Dollar, have done 15 times now. Airnets price for us for August is £504 this company is £540.

Over the years we've tried several different agencies, and at other times have booked direct. Lately we've been getting the best deals with US Rent A Car.

Another vote for USRentacar....we have used these on many trips and we have booked with them again for our upcoming one.

Just got to add that Airline Network (Airnet) have been very good all the times I have used them - at least 20. Have also used yescarhire (Alamo so you get to select your own car) but the thing that has made me go back to Airnet was when I needed to cancel last year, they deducted a £25 admin fee, issued a cancellation invoice immediately and that was it.

With some of the others I believe you would lose the lot if you had to cancel, and yes, we were covered by insurance, but it just struck me as being a very fair policy to have since I am sure they can do a no-penalty cancellation with the hire company (Dollar at MCO) until the last minute.

The other thing I think is relevant is contactability, time and again posters here have complained about Airnet and not being able to contact them when a problem does occur. Martina

I have heard 1 or 2 complain about them but you do with any company.
I have used them for Car hire, hotels, and flights for years now and saved a fortune but I have never had anything go wrong. Mybe if I have a bad experience with them I will change my opinion but all good for me.

I have to say I am very tempted to book with Airline Network as I believe we have got a good price at £364 for 2weeks with Gold insurance which includes extras drivers and a tank of fuel!, and that's dropping the car off later than pick up!

Does anyone know of any good car hire places not based at the airport? We only want a car for a few days on our trip and dont want to trek back to the airport for it?

Where are you staying, Laura? The car rental firms all have offices around the area, including onsite at WDW. I'm sure I've read, though, that it works out more expensive to hire on the spot, so it might be worth booking in advance, regardless of where you choose to pick up.

Dollar have 3 off airport sites that I know of all can be booked thru airnet. Other companies have different locations.

Just checked for some reason it cost an extra £1/day from Holiday Inn compared to airport collection

As Debbie said prebook in UK if at all possible it costs a fortune to rent over there.
