Car hire for group of ppl

Hi,

Starting my planning for next years holiday and DH and I usually like to have a car.

This time around there will be 7 of us 4 adults and 3 kids (kids aged 13-8) and I was wondering what size car do you usually get to fit you all in and how you manage the luggage. As I don't want to be driving a tank around for two wks lol a cad similar to a galaxy over here would be fine.

The only thing you will get 7 people plus luggage in is a tank!! we had one a few years ago and it was a huge thing to drive around.
Next year there is 7 of us and we're having a minivan for 7 and also a car (so the in-laws can have a bit of time by themselves and drive themselves around) plus we need it to get the luggage from the airport, you can usually get 3 suitcase in a minivan at a push.

Last year there was 8 of us and we had a 12 seater van, plenty of room but not very comfortable, this year we are having 2 cars.
