Wayyyy too many car rental sites to list separately. If you belong to Costco, AAA, AARP or any other organization of affinity group and/or have an Entertainment book, check their websites.
http://www.carrentalsavers.com/ I really like this site too- it shows all the rental places together. I was looking for cars for December-they were around $166 a week today- just last week they were $115! That site tells you if need something to take with you to the car rental counter- like the magicard to get the discount......or that you must pay with mastercard etc......
As you are based in the UK you are better off booking via a UK based agent so the insurances are all included in the price .US sites generally do not include insurances for aliens I believe

Are the discount codes on these sites available to everyone?
Has anyone used a discount code when reserving a car and had the agency say 'Sorry- you are not eligible for that discount'?
