First timers visiting WDW, staying at BLT Dec.14- 17 & SSR Dec. 17-19

Question: We plan on renting a car at the Car Care Center. Is this near MK? We are staying at BLT & plan to return the car to the Orlando Airport (12/19) is this a good idea? How early should we arrive at the airport? Any suggestions or ideas?

BTW, we are using the Magic Express on arrival, but we are not sure if ME works for departure since now we have to return the rental.

Why not return the car to the CCC and then let Disney worry about getting you to the airport on Magical Express? That's what I'd like to do when we are there in 15 days!!! if I can figure out the timing on dropping the car and getting back to POP in time to catch DME.

thanks for the info. our flight leaves about 745am so i have read that we should catch the bus about 3 hours before our flight leaves. With a rental we could possibly save some time by not having to wait for the bus while at the resort and then hoping the luggage gets there. please respond back after your vacation with your experiences. thanks.

Hi JL...the Car Care Centre is located right in the MK parking lot, just through the gate. We have rented cars out of that location a couple of times and it is always very simple and convenient.

Hi! The car care center is close to BLT and easily accessible via shuttle service.

You should look to see if you can get a better rate returning the car at the CCC instead of MCO.

Its true that you would have to get an ME pick up 3 hours early on your final day, but if you have to drive, get gas, worry about the tolls, and return the rental, I dont know if you would save THAT much time..AND you wouldnt be able to all nap a bit more on the 45-60 minute drive (well, at least this is a factor for the driver and copilot..kids can probably do whatever in both places)...so, you would save about 30 minutes I would think..

We have done it both ways. For the early AM departure, I prefer ME...for the evening departure, I prefer the car so that we can go to a park and leave from there (with DME, we loose alot of time to transportation to/from the park back to the hotel etc...we'll just leave directly from the park)...

Have a great trip! We are BLT Owners and really like it there!

We are doing a split stay first at BLT then SSR. So you think we should take rental back to CCC ( How do you get to the airport ? Magical express from CCC or do you have to get back to your resort first ) I've read you can check your bags at the front desk of your resort and get your airline boarding passes, true ? After reading your entry this does sound easier. thanks. One other question. I've also read that on a split stay like ours you can arrange for the resorts to transfer your luggage to the next resort for you, is this correct ?
