Has anyone eaten at Cap'n Jacks in Downtown disney? What can you tell me about it?

Thanks!

I've not, but a friend of mine seems to go there every trip and loves it. Says they have good steak.

Already have ADR's for this in June. We are also signed up for the free DDP from the bounce back in Sept. and thinking maybe going here twice during the week.
O yea we did go there last Sept. loved it and want to go there again as you can see.

Thank you! We have adr's there. Thought we would give it a try since we will be going to the water parks one day.

I didn't want to rewrite my feelings on the Captain, so this re-posts my reply intended to help someone decide between CJ and Planet Hollywood:

Capt. Jack should be thrown overboard!

We thought our trip to Capt. Jacks would be a special treat where DW could have twin lobster tails on the dining plan. Boy was this a huge mistake!

My soupy spinach and artichoke dip with chips from the grocery store and inedible alfredo with dry chicken on top were so bad that I had to send them back.

DS had mac and cheese that were some weird day-glo orange that I totally understood why he wanted nothing to do with it.

DW's lobster was rubbery enough that you could use a melon scooper and make superballs.

I gave up on the entire dining experience, but DW was brave and ordered the key lime pie for dessert. This was not up to the quality that we had in other WDW restaurants and had a cold firm spot in the middle that told me they were serving frozen pies.

I can't attest to the quality of Planet Hollywood's cuisine, but I'd rather eat a happy meal off the floor of McDonalds than do Capt. Jack's again.

My family and I enjoyed Captain Jack's when we ate there in August. The shrimp cocktail was wonderful (the shrimp were HUGE) and I loved the twin lobster tails...even my dad who doesn't eat seafood had the lobster. The only bad thing was the lack of gluten free food for my mom. Most of the chefs on our trip went out of their way to make her food that she could eat that was like the food the rest of us were eating. She basically had dry chicken breast and mashed potatoes (with no gravy because it was thickened with flour). She is allergic to lobster (and she loved it too before she knew she was allergic to it!) so the chicken was pretty much the only option.

Other than my mom not having the best dinner there because of her food limitations, it was a great meal and I would go back again in a heart beat.

I ate there a couple years ago while visiting my parents, the snowbirds, and I loved it! We went for lunch and we enjoyed watching the boats outside the window. While my parents ordered right off the menu, I kind of designed my own salad, and the wait staff was very accommodating about that. The food was excellent and I would def go back for a laid back meal.
