Captain's Grille - Yacht Club Buffet Breakfast

We may be canceling our 1900 PF ADRs for CG so that we can get an earlier breakfast and head to EPCOT on our departure day. I am sad to miss out on the characters and some possibly better selection of food at 1900 PF, but a few hours at EPCOT may be worth it...?

Anyone enjoy the breakfast here? Do they have Mickey waffles as part of the buffet? This might be my only chance at Mickey waffles! How early does this restaurant open? 7? 7:30? Is it possible to use Disney transportation to get there even if it's a couple hours before park opening?

have you considered cape may cafe? they have a great character breakfast and I believe it opens at 7:30. the characters are minnie, goofey, chip, and dale. only a 5 minute walk to epcot. and yes they do have mickey waffles.

Yes I have! I haven't called them yet...slacker. I just am not 100% sure about this decision yet. I am nervous about canceling my ADR. Just thought Yacht Club may be easier to get into. Oh how I would love to have more character time. I should call tomorrow!

We have found with the Captain Grille at the Yacht Club you can walk up with no ADR's if early enough. But when calling ask if they have anything there so if they don't you still have the first ADR This comes from dining when I do a change , they look first then book if there & then cancel

It looks like they have a BIG Mickey Waffle! We've only had dinner here and we really enjoy it. Looking to having breakfast here on our next trip!

Yay!!! I just called and changed my reservations. I got a 7:40AM reservation for Cape May Cafe! I am so happy I got an early time! Yayyyyy! Mickey Waffles, AND characters AND close to Epcot. Hopefully it won't be too jam packed and busy at that time. I'm so excited. Aww how sad, it will be our last day! But it sounds like it'll be a good one!

If anyone wants 1900 PF Breakfast @ 10AM I just cancelled it at 9:05 AM PST.

We ate there this past Sunday, April 6th at 9:30 am. The buffet was terrible, the same foods at Cape May but at least there the food is replenished. At the YC there was only one girl watching over the buffet and at the Cape May there was about 6 girls keeping things up.

There was one pathetic apple blintz dried out in a pan for the entire 30 minutes we were there. The bread budding was so dried out it stuck to the pan. The bacon was in a sea of grease, the eggs were like rubber. It was so gross. The pastries were full, the yogurt was just about empty, same thing with the fruit and the oatmeal and it was not filled while we were there.

Now we did do Boma and Cape May that same week and our times were 7:30-7:45 and the food could not have been fresher and tastier, I think maybe we ate too late??? Maybe next time we stay at the YC and we want the breakfast buffet we will go right when they open. We have eated there and ordered off the menu and the food was ok, they make a very good eggs benedict but the french toast was limp and soggy, just like the french toast off the buffet so that tells me they did not make it fresh, they just picked it off the buffet.

Hi MickeyNicki - oooh you helped me feel even better about my decision. Yeah I was thinking about how Cape May Cafe might be busier, but that's actually kind of a good thing, because food could run out and they would have to replace it more often like you mentioned. But aww, sorry your last meal at WDW wasn't the best. But it looks like you ate some pretty good stuff on the other days!

I'm a little sad to miss out on the characters at 1900 PF and seeing Grand Floridian Resort. Maybe after dinner at O'hana we'll boat on over there to visit and take some pictures!

Gah....2 more weeks!
