If anyone has any pic/reviews please share.
The wave sounds a little exotic to me, but the dessert looks wonderful (that trio thing). It would also be easier as Captain's Grille is kind of out of the way, sure we could go to epcot on the night we plan to eat there, but we already are eating 2 dinners at epcot so not sure if we want 3 nights at epcot.

The Wave is far from exotic, but it's menu is certainly less traditional than CG.

That being said, I have been to both several times and enjoy them both. They are among the best non-signature restaurants at WDW. The Wave has a little more ambience than CG, but food and service at both is quite good. You can't go wrong with either one, in my mind.

As a pp stated, the ambiance is better at the Wave; however, the Captains Grille is very pleasant stop we make often. The restaurant is quite, not over the top themed, offers excellent service, and I enjoy the food and menu at the Captains Grille. :thumbsup2

We did not like CG at all. It was the only meal of our past 4 trips on the DP that I would not go back to.

We have been to the Wave a few times and to us it is more like a signature place with amazing delicious food....the menu reads fancy but it is anything but. We have had the pork, flank steak, filet and the shrimp pasta and it was to die for ...the desserts are ok but I would not go there just for those

Capts Grill is another yummy place...awesome pork chop and great salads. It is a bit out of the way but if I was staying in that area I would eat there again in a heartbeat...for the Wave I would be happy to go out of my way to eat there

O Gosh, IDK what to doooooo! LoL
I am leaning towards The Wave, anyone know where I could find some pics w/o rummaging through all the food porn?
I am not a seafood person if that changes anything, I'd only get steak @ the Captain's Grille.

We've enjoyed both places...Captain's Grille was very good, but is really pretty standard 4 star hotel restaurant fare...
The Wave is unique without being overly exotic. The atmosphe and service were both very good.
Being that Captain's Grille is out of your way, and the Wave is so good, I'd recommend doing the Wave...

We ate at both and enjoyed both. The Wave seemed busier but no complaints. It was my bd dinner, glad we tried it and would go again. We stayed at the YC so the CG was right there for us. We had breakfast and dinner. Both meals were good...some had buffet (bkfast) and others a la carte.
I don't think you can go wrong with either. I really liked the bread they serve at the Wave.:)

Last weekend I took my boys DS 17 and DS 11 we ate at Le Cellier, Teppan Edo and Captains Grill. Much to my surprise everyones favorite was Captain's Grill. We have always been big fans of Le Cellier and Teppan Edo but Captain's is one of our new favorites.

Captain's Grille is our favorite 1TS meal!

If we keep telling people how good this place is it's only going to make it harder for us to get an adr at this nice little secret. :goodvibes

The Wave is a hidden jewel of disney dining, IMHO. The menu sounds fancy but it's really not. If its a particular sauce they will leave it off. It's normally fairly easy to get into and the food is somewhere between a 1TS and 2TS quality. The Wave is the place to go and consistently get a great meal.

We had a great meal at Captain's Grille! Here are some photos. I had the snow crab legs, Mark had the Grilled Rib Eye, Nate had the NY Strip steak, of course and Ben had what he said were the best chicken nuggets ever! He made this declaration about the best chicken nuggets several times on the trip. The desserts were probably the least impressive part of meal.

We ate at The Wave in December and really enjoyed it. I think the food is more "normal" than it might read on the menu. It felt like a more upscale restaurant without being too fancy which was a nice change of pace. I would highly recommend it.

We ate at many different places during our stay, but the Wave was definitely a diamond in the rough and a great choice! (We didn't eat at CG, so I can't comment on that one - sorry!)

I read the menu and admit to being a little nervous, but I sampled everyone's dish and liked them all. Out of four adults, one voted this as their favorite meal (beating out Citricos, Le Cellier, Narcoossee's, Hollywood Brown Derby for them).

The three children enjoyed their meals too.

Dining/Eating is such a personal thing, but The Wave was a very nice meal, everyone left happy and full!
