We are staying at BC in a couple of weeks and I was thinking that Captains Grille would be an easy walk to breakfast for us. Never been there, so I was looking for opinions on if it was worth it for breakfast.

Thanks!

We went once and did the buffet. It was ok. If I ever went back, I'd probably just order something off the menu.

We will be eating breakfast here for the first time in a couple weeks too! I've read and heard that it was delicious, so I'm hoping that is the case.:ssst:

We usually do the buffet and the place is always half empty. The buffet is ok and different, liked a baked tomato option.

Next month we are doing the candlelight package for breakfast at Captains Grille. It will be interesting as to how this affects the crowd level of the restaurant since I think this is the first time they are offering this, I am not sure.

The place is pretty low key and pretty quiet, not that many kids at all as compared to Cape May at the BC next door which is characters.

I have never ordered off the menu

Had breakfast there two weeks ago. Opted for the buffet for more variety. It was okay, nothing spectacular. My favorite thing on the buffet was a flatbread with eggs and caramelized onions.

Did the buffet there last week. Thought it was decent, but not cheap ($23). Several variations on just plain scrambled eggs. We were in and out pretty quickly So, it didn't tie up a lot of time. Do, make a reservation though. We did so in the app about a half-hour before. There was plenty of availability, but when we got there, they were telling walk-ins, there was a 45 minute wait. Had the same experience there for dinner. When we tried to walk-up, they told us there was no availability at all for the entire night, but when we looked in the app, we were able to get a reservation a half-hour later. Weird! If your are staying in the area (we were at the Boardwalk), it is a good option, but not a breakfast that it is worth going out of the way for.

We had an ADR and had to wait 45 minute. It was so annoying bc the hostess kept pointing to our table saying it just needs to be cleared and we will be seated. 30 minutes of that and we finally get inside to a nearly empty restaurant. Another party in front of us had a waiting issue when we arrived and ended up speaking with a manager. If we knew we were going to be waiting that long, we would have stopped them to help us too. This is why I probably wouldn't go back for breakfast.

My wife and I love the buffet. Everything excellent. The highlight was the bread pudding with bananas foster sauce! Unfortunately, no ice cream to go on top (like 'Ohana), but really enjoyable. Since 'Ohana has gone to the caramel sauce, we go there for our bananas foster fix!

The buffet is basically the same food as the Cape May Café for half the price. We've gone a few times and enjoy it. To enjoy a breakfast buffet, you have to go when you're not in a hurry though. There's great pastries as well as various breakfast items, salmon and cream cheese on a bagel, all the classic breakfast meats. Otherwise, order off the menu. Their stuff is terrific.

We did the buffet a couple of times the last week of October and we enjoyed it. I'm not a fan any kind of lunch or dinner buffet but I do like the options for breakfast. We did use the Pass Holder discount so it was a little less expensive.
