Captains grill at the yachtsman

We ate dinner at the Captain's Grill in mid-May. It was very good (prime rib especially). I ended up booking it literally last minute and couldn't believe how dead it was in there! It was very nice after being in crowded parks & restaurants all week long.

We would definitely eat there again. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I wasn't feeling well (too much sun & walking) and our waitress packed up desserts up to go so we could eat them back in our room.

I have stayed at YC over a dozen times since 1997, but for some reason had never tried the Captain's Grill (formerly known as the Yacht Club Galley) until 2006. It was quite good and as a result, we went back on our March 2008 trip. It's not spectacular, but it was a solid meal, in a relaxing setting with good service.

This was our experience as well.

Good food with a relaxing environment that you don't have to sell your first born to get into.

I ate there two weeks ago. It was fantastic. If you like mussels, order them as an app. They can stand up to, and beat any I have eaten at any Disney Signature dining location. Service was relaxed, and the place was pretty empty. I really enjoyed my dinner there, and hope it survives. I have photos and will be writing a full review.

DH and I ate there for the first time in May. We took the boat over from EPCOT, although walking would have been faster. We had a 1:00 lunch. Both had crab cakes (that were excellent) and DH had a caesar salad and I had the wedge. It was a lot of food. I also had the Boston cream pie - yummy! We enjoyed it and will definitely go again.

We enjoyed dinner there is May as well and agree with everyone's assessment. We'll be back.:thumbsup2

Although none of us ordered it, I heard a gentleman rave about the seafood stew. He told the hostess that he's recommending it to anyone who will listen or something to that effect.

Perfect description. The clam chowder is great. And this was the one place that I have ever seen my husband eat a steak without ketchup. He said it was great the way it was prepared. After 26 years of marriage, I knew this place was a winner.

Probably going to book this for our Thanksgiving meal.

Food and service was great when we ate here. I agree with the prior poster the lager steamed mussels were amazing!!

Thank you all for the reviews I was wondering where to eat while at Epcot now I know. I love Mussles and will be sure to try them. I had them at Artis Point last time and they where good there as well. Looking forward to trying this place.

Yes DH and I ate there in early April and it was very good. There are a ton of pics and reviews in the link in my signature

We eat here often, sshhh, don't tell anyone about it. It's the one place we can always get into without ADRs. We love a nice relaxing lunch here anytime we want it.

The subject is a bit confusing. Are you eating at the Captains Grill or at the Yachtsman? Both are good, but they aren't the same.

We have a breakfast booked here in August. I like the look of the place, the theming looks calming. I have not eaten here before but the positive reviews encouraged us to give it a go.

I have had the mussels at Artists Point, Narcossees, and Captains Grill. Captians Grill blew the others away, IMO.

I'm pretty sure the OP means the Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club.....

hi-as anybody eaton here we have just booked an adr for august

Are you eating at the Captain's Grille that is located in the Yacht Club Resort or at the Yachtsman Steakhouse that is located in the same resort?

The Captain's Grille is a very nice casual table service place that we usually go to for a relaxing lunch.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is Disney's version of a high end steakhouse. We have eaten here in the past and it is a good steakhouse experiance if Shula's is not in the travel budget.

They are two very different dining experiances though so you want to be 100% sure which one you booked.
