I think that it does. It's definitely dated but I feel that there are so few attractions of "old Epcot" left that this is some nice nostalgia. Certainly, people would definitely enjoy having Horizons or World of Motion back or the original Imagination pavilion, but since this is pretty much the last bastion of 80's Epcot, I'll take it.
Plus, you can beat MJ and 20 minutes in an air conditioned theater. I'd rather sit through this 3x in a row than Hall of Presidents once.
