Captain Eo?

I for one was extraordinarily happy to see "Honey, I shrunk the Audience" gone, gone, gone!!!!! Even if I didn't love Captain Eo, I would rather watch paint dry in that theater then see that again. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Easy enough.
Oh, sweet irony.

To the OP:
If you Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', you'll have to be Workin' Day And Night to stay one step ahead of the DIS regulars. You might Enjoy Yourself, being Off The Wall. I understand that it's only Human Nature to want a Thriller like having so many people respond on your thread. Some might say, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough. I just say, it's as simple as ABC, take a look at The Man In The Mirror and BEAT IT!!! :smooth:

:worship:

I was happy to see Captain Eo back because I had never seen it before. Now I have. Now I'm ready for it to be replaced by something FAR better. It's just not good. It reminds me of the Country Bear Jamboree. Old and Outdated.

 very creative, good job!

All that AND a Envy Adams avatar. You're awesome.

What's the address for amazon dot ca?

Being not much of a "The Lion King" fan, I was taken aback for a moment when you mentioned Matthew Broderick...I was like...Inspector Gadget isn't at any Disney Theme Parks, is he?

No, because there's a God. Those movies were awful... And I'm a fan of Broderick, Everett, and Inspector Gadget. LoL!

I'm glad Eo came back, just so I can see it again and relive the childhood memories. And now I'm ready for something new. At it's TIME, it was the height of creativity and effects. Of course NOW it looks dated and corny. If they were to bring back Mr. Toad, we'd be all happy about it, despite how dated and corny it would look compared to what we have now.

As for MJ himself? The long and short is that he was found NOT GUILTY. Do I have an opinion about that...sure. But it has no bearing on the attraction.

Yeah, it was fun to see EO again, for old times sake and as a fill-in after HISTA. But, enough already.
Thanks for the memories, time for something new and wonderful.

I think some of us are missing the point of the show... We're not here to fight you guys... WE ARE HERE TO CHANGE THA WOOOOOORLD!!!

I love Captain EO. Anyone that doesn't can just skip it.

Despite the fact that it's corny and outdated, I actually kind of enjoyed Captain EO when I got to see it. I enjoyed it a lot more than I did Honey, I Shrunk The Audience. That was sooo bad :scared:

Sorry, I like it too. Super corny, campy and catchy music. It would be even better with Joel giving it the MST3K treatment with Tom & Crow. Can you just hear them now?

"Wham bam - it was better than the first time
Love jam - had my fingers in the pie
Wham bam - we were swingin' from the grape vine
Wham bam - and I kissed her butterfly"
----------------
"young lust
sometimes you need it so bad
it's enough to drive a young girl mad
so what you gonna do about it

a little bit o' nasty
you look a little sleazy
but don't get any on you

young lust
you better keep your daughter inside
or she's gonna get a dose of my pride"

------------------------

"Oooh, jailbait
Oooh, jailbait
j-j-j-jailbait!

Take it, leave it, roll the dice
She's hot as hell, I'm cold as ice oh jailbait
Tell your daddy how you do me
Put the woodshed, do it to me jailbait
Whatcha see in daddy's eyes
Check the voice, no surprise oh jailbait
Ooooh..."

Just a few lyrics from several Aerosmith songs.

Now lets go ride Rock'in Roller coaster!
:yay:

As far as I know, no one is compelled to enter the theater and watch Capt Eo. We enjoyed seeing it again. Others have no interest. I can't imagine why anyone would walk into Stitch more than once, yet they do. I also don't ride roller coasters, but others enjoy them and I don't begrudge them the opportunity. Lighten up, people. It's a theme park and free will is available there.

Why so rude? Is that really necessary?

In one case there was not enough evidence to charge for a crime (though there was enough to persue the father of the accuser), the second he was acquitted. It's not about what helps me sleep at night, that's the facts. No need to be nasty about it. If you disagree, I wasn't on the jury, don't take it out on me.

Who needs evidence when you've got the tabloids and media? They always tell the truth, right?? They tell us who's Hot, who's guilty, what we should wear, weigh, and who our next president should be. Woo Hoo! :yay:

Goodness - next time you're at Disney, take a real close look around.

Pirates of the Caribbean? NOT a nice buncha fellows (and don't forget about Anne Bonny). Murderers, theives, the whole nine yards.

Cinderella? In the original Grimms Brothers story, the evil stepsisters were forced to wear iron shoes heated red hot ..... and dance in them until they died.

Snow White? As I recall, her stepmother paid someone to tear her living heart out...... and Snow ended up living with a buncha bachelors in a hideway in the woods, under somewhat dubious circumstances. :rolleyes1

"Why on earth would these characters be considered to be suitable in a theme park frequented mainly by children?"

It's for posts like these that I wish DIS boards had LIKE buttons!

We saw Captain EO in Disneyland 2 years ago and loved it!

A bit of history....
Captain EO is a 3-D science fiction film starring Michael Jackson and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (who came up with the name "Captain EO" from the Greek, cf. "Eos", the Greek goddess of dawn) that was shown at Disney theme parks from 1986 through the 1990s. The attraction returned to the Disney Parks in 2010, as a tribute after Jackson's death.
The film's executive producer was George Lucas. The film was choreographed by Jeffrey Hornaday and Michael Jackson, photographed by Peter Anderson, produced by Rusty Lemorande and written by Lemorande, Lucas and Coppola, from a story idea by the artists of Walt Disney Imagineering. . Captain EO is regarded as one of the first "4-D" films (4-D being the name given to a 3-D film which incorporates in-theater effects, such as lasers, smoke, etc., frame synced to the film narrative).[2] This innovation was suggested by producer-writer Lemorande who is, therefore, sometimes referred to as "The Father of 4-D."
