Captain Eo

I don't imagine a flock to see it. And I hate to say unless they clean the film up A LOT!!!!! Most people will be stumbling out of that theater from the terrible headaches that old 3-D gave you. I remember even as a kid that film was so hard to watch as it really hurt my eyes.

BTW love RHPS, Captian EO could take or leave, most likely I would be riding HMH and SM instead. :)

I may have missed it, but I have not read anything from Disney indicating that THEY are "seriously considering bringing back Captain EO." I have read countless FANS wishing for this, but nothing from Disney. I would be extremely surprised if it were to happen.

To answer your question, no, I don't think it would cause people to flock to the parks. It might get an initial fanatic surge, but short-lived, imho.

The first mention of the return of EO was made by the reliable Al lutz in his column here...

It was mentioned again in another article...

I'm not holding to these rumors yet, but I'm optimistic.

I didn't get to go to either WDW or Disneyland until I was an adult, so I am really hoping that this rumor might be true 'cause I've never seen it before. I realize that I could watch it on youtube, but I never imagined that I might have the opportunity to see it the way it was meant to be experiencesd, and thus I have never done so. Here's to hoping Al is right!!!

oooh please powers that be at Disney bring this back even if for a lil while. i'm going to the expo in Sept but will come right back again in oct for Capitain EO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw officals from WDI outside HISTA yesterday discussig things. I couldn't tell exactly what they were saying but they were definitely talking about the HISTA attraction building.

No Barbosa, it is dumb. That is what I like about it. I was involved in midnight screenings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show for ten years of my life. I like dumb cheesy shows.

Sure it's cheesy, but it does rock. The sound system was the best I've ever heard (nobody does audio better than Disney), and the music is great.

I think a lot of people who like Rocky Horror also like Captain EO. Does that say something?

No we don't. :scared1:

I bet I made a dozen trips to DL while Captain EO was playing, and never saw it. Did see parts of it on You tube, and REALLY glad I didn't waste my time in the parks.

I never once said everyone who like Rocky Horror likes Captain EO...

But I can think of numerous cast mates and audience members from my former show that would love a chance to see captain eo again. Then again, I can also think of plenty of people from my cast that hate disneyland and being out in the sun in large groups of people.

I first saw Captain EO a couple of years after it came out, when I was in high school, and it took me many more years to understand how that little film fit into the very low period of Francis Ford Coppola's career. If that had been stretched out to 90 minutes, it would have been great for MST3K.

But one thing the movie did for me right away was make me realize that Michael Jackson kinda sucked. He was like a god for most of my adolescence. It was Captain EO that broke the spell for me and made me realize that he was nothing but a bag of tricks. I didn't care for anything Michael Jackson did after I saw Captain EO, and stopped liking everything that had come before.

So I won't be waiting in line to see it if they bring it back.

I remember seeing it but at the same time I dont remember the show so it would be fun to watch. Also it would be nice to see the theater full its been awhile!

I would be nice if they would just switch up the shows every 5 years or so ..same with Star Tours - I love the ride but enjoy a little change.

Love RHPS!!!!!!!!!!! I watched it on cable a week or two ago. Just not the same when you're not in a midnight showing. Still funny though.

You are so right! Captain Eo was hard to watch. It's easier to watch on YouTube. I watched it, and the cast member Captain Eeyore spoof too... OMG, I didn't know I knew all those songs by heart. STILL! I wasn't even an MJ fan back in the day- not sure why I obviously went to Captain Eo so many times as a teen. I guess the music is catchy, no?

That said- if it was a day I was already in the parks, I'd go watch it for nostalgia's sake. But I wouldn't make an additional trip, and I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes, either...

Bite your tounge! A full theater means no good napping spot! :lmao:

Yeah good point when we took our daughter to WDW at 7 months old we sat on the Carousel of Progress several times so she could nap...one show the curtains didnt even open - oops - but know one checked to see if we were in the room.
