Captain EO to re-open?

This one will be a toss up, it will all depend on how the MJ story goes from here forward.

If the MJ "story" goes like the memorial today, I could see a re-opening of Captain EO. It was a very good attraction.

If the MJ "story" gets messy, which it probably will, we will be stuck with the Youtube version....

I was thinking about this with the recent passing of MJ and the talk of EO lately, and while I would gladly welcome this back to replace HISTA, I know this is nothing more than a rumor do to MJ's recent passing.

I know thought that EO is an outdated film also though, but I would love to just as a tribute bring this back for a limited time and then bring in a whole new movie (meaning something different than HISTA) after they replace EO again. I know this is just a fantasy as I stated above this is just a rumor circulated by his recent passing, but It would be great for Disney to pay him tribute by bringing this back for a limited time.....Espcially since HISTA is pretty bad and outdated.

I don't see it coming back. It would seem rather dated now.

Besides, they totally changed that theatre, with the moving floors and special effects.

I don't see it coming back. It would seem rather dated now.

The only real reason Disney would have to bring it back would be that it would bring in a lot more people than HISTA currently is and they may be able to even sell merchandise from the 3D movie. I guaruntee tons more people would go see this, even if it would seem rather dated, than HISTA, just b/c it is MJ and the big time fans would buy the merchandise.

I know this isn't gonna happen, but if they did do it i don't think it would be to much of a risky move on their part.

Obviously, I would LOVE for this to happen. Highly doubt it will though. However, I would book a trip right now to be able to see MJ on the 3D big screen again singing and dancing to one of my fav MJ songs (We Are Here To Change the World). I have no doubt that it could pack the theater again. MJ = HUGE AUDIENCES, why do you think the media throws any BS negative story they can make up about him on TV, because people watch it.

Michael LOVED Disneyland and WDW, and Walt Disney was always a huge inspiration to him. It would be a great testimony to his life. God bless him. RIP

I, for one, would not want to see this happen.

The child molestation charges are too serious for me to simply disregard. I don't care how much of an influence WDW and Walt had on Jackson...I'd like to think that the reverse isn't true. I would actually send a very scathing letter to anyone in Disney that would listen, if plans became serious.

However, having said that, I find it hard to believe, regardless. That movie is dreadfully dated...and Jackson, like it or not, has been musically irrelevant since pretty much right around the time he paid 20 million clams to escape court in 93.

He has been socially relevant, but not at ALL in a positive way.

Is this the kind of message Disney wants to send to parents?

Personally, I am getting a bit tired hearing about M. Jackson every day of the week on every news outlet. :sad2:

there well may be a petition..but i can assure you, no one in the jackson camp is considering a ride at disney right now..:sad2:

Actually I'm sure some of the people in "Jackson's camp" would jump at this or any other chance to cash in, but there's no way Disney would do this. I predict within a week or two you can add death by drug overdose to all of the other problems MJ had.
