Why's this in Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies? RIP Farah and Ed, pedo, you not so much.

That pedo comment is not necessary. Can you 100% prove that? If so then you have the right to say that. If you can't..then....... Let the man rip. I am stunned at the few posters making cras remarks. Yes MJ was "different" or maybe "weird".....some stories might be true others were tabloid explotation......yes your entitled to your opinion as am I. But slander is a dirty word. I am not a fanatic about MJ, I am a greater admirer of Farrah's as I grew up watching Charlie's Angels and enjoyed the many films she did following like Between two Women, poor Little Rich Girl,Extremeties, The Burning Bed, Double Exposure and many more. Say what you will about MJ BUT he gave us some great music.

Here's hoping they bring back Captain Eo for a limited run. Probably has aged much better than "Honey I Shrunk the Audience."

I know many of you will flame me for this, but all I can say is good riddance. No more children can be molested by this well known pedophile. I just pray that there is still time to save his own children. They have been raised by this crazy molester, and who knows how badly he screwed them up.

This country deifies entertainers - it's a shame really that people who make REAL contributions to society and to our lives are not even known, yet people who are attractive and/or can sing & dance or play sports are idolized. First of all this week we lost 3 icons in the ET industry. may they all find the peace that they were searching for... And as far as the pedo comment how could people be cruel in a time of death.. First of all as a parent there would be NO , and I mean NO price that would compensate for somebody doing that to my child and for those familes that got money shame on them so that to me makes no sense to call him a pedo.... Was his behavior off the top sure it was but just becuse your ectentric does not mean that you need to be disrepected even at your death... Most normal parents would not let their child sleep with an adult man. Many parents did. For the money. They should be locked up and have their children taken away from them. By your statement:

.....Are you saying that because he had parental approval and he compensated the parents, that his molesting of the children was OK? I am not sure I understand how you think that because the parents agreed, and he paid up, that that does not make him a pedophile?

I am not saying that becuase the parents agreed it was ok I am talking about that he was found not gulity by a court of law... nobody knows what happens behind closed doors but I am saying is that the two familes that took money before it went to trial they settled for a $$ amonut... I am a parent ad i would not settle I would want him to be found guilty not settle on a dollar amount.

Regardless how you felt about the man the past few years of his life, his music was great. There seemed to be something for everyone, or time. My family was fortunate to see Captain EO in EPCOT and we loved the music. I would love to see it again with my grandchildren, so that they could hear what I heard. Beautiful music. Rest in Peace, Michael, the torment is over for you.

This type of thing is expected, but it's tough to make such a judgement for me knowing I have probably about 1 percent of the info. What about those guys who played rugby for NC university and were accused of gang rape, but woops after being crucified in the media it was 100 percent false and they never even had sex with her. Good job Nancy Grace. Well, you're doing the same to MJ, im not saying he's innocent, but with the chance at 10m (that was the out of court settlement) it's possible he was a molester or NOT. As for people propping up entertainment stars, look at it like this. Those of you complaining about it, how many of you spend money on going to Disney, or movies, or books, or music. Now, as a ratio how much do you give to charity, how much do you spend on other things? Entertainers are important to us. We respect and revere them accordingly. It's how it is. It's not that way for no reason at all. Similar logic could lead others to say anyone that goes to Disney is squandering their money and should help those less fortunate.

Before the thread gets locked (which it will) I just want to say that although Michael Jackson had a host of mental problems (he was acquitted of molestation charges, but there is no doubt he displayed very poor judgment), he is at least one of the most significant contributors to the music industry, and his legacy is unparalleled.

As a counseling professional, I think he was a very sick man in need of serious help but with no hope of getting it because he was surrounded by enablers and dysfunctional people.

Thanks DIS (and inky) for posting the links to Capt. EO. I remember seeing it as a brand new attraction many years ago in Disneyland. Waited in line forever it seemed. Passed up a chance to see it right before it closed permanently (didn't know it was closing), and kicked myself for many years afterwards. It still makes me smile. Certainly sums up a long-gone era.
