Capt Gala menu - which night?

We're on the 11/25 Western cruise and usually that means the following dining rotations:
RAERAAE
AERAEER
ERAERRA

Last time I cruised this itinerary, the 1st 3 nights had standard rotation menus and then switched to P&P>Pirate>Capt>Sea you soon, so I was planning on booking Palo for Prince & Princess night (besides Pirates this one is my least favorite).

But according to the last few western navigators, they switched menu nights so Capt menu is on formal, and P&P is on semi-formal. Which means missing standard rotational menu on whichever restaurant you end up as day 2 (and subsequently 5/6) .

Is this accurate?

I was really hoping for the RC standard menu (I had requested ERAERRA).
Yes, I'm over thinking it. But that's part of my favorite part of planning. Lol

FWIW: I know someone who was on the 9/23 cruise and she confirmed the rotation.

Can't say for sure. When we did the Fantasy (East & West) Captain's Gala was night 6 (semi-formal night) on both of them. That was in 2014.

Looks like it switched between July and Aug this year.

Be aware not all Westerns have the 1231223 rotation. Only the itineraries with Costa Maya or Jamaica. The Western A itinerary has 1231231

I think they may have changed the rotations, on the the other two itineraries with the different menu rotation, because the Rotational menu is being served on nights 1, 3, and 4, and that wouldn't work. Making all Western and Eastern dining rotations 1231231.

I don't understand why DCL won't at least release the menu sequence prior to boarding.

Would certainly aid the OCD planners like me.

Mostly because it can change at the drop of a hat. Really. On our 4 night Dream cruise, they switched Halloween (night 2) and Pirate (night 3), due to bad weather forecast for night 3 (not good for fireworks). And it was done on night 1.

Yep. Not on Disney, but on RCCL I not only had menus flipped, I had entrees be removed between dinner one night and the next. (Being gluten-free I got the menu the night before and pre-ordered. After the whole menu changed and I had to go with what was gluten-free without modification, my server asked if there was something I wanted to have as a fall-back in the unlikely event it happened again. I selected a grilled chicken caesar (minus the croutons obviously). Two nights later, the entree I ordered got replaced with something else. He had the salad for me but offered me the chance to get something else if I wanted. It was nice having that standing order though.)

Oddly enough, as much as I obsess over planning, I'm very good with last-minute changes. I need to know which night to make my Palo! Lol #FWP

You can make your best guess, based on past Navigators. And, if it isn't right, when you board, go to the Palo dining changes table and have the reservation changed.

I appreciate the sentiment but that doesn't really work since they don't pre-publish menus.

But, again, I'm not too concerned. This is just my anxiety talking. I'll stalk the next few sailings and made an educated guess.

Seems it could be issued "subject to change" in advance if it's "subject to change after the boarding.

I meant on the actual cruise.
The navigator app lists the dinner menus, so you could check that once you get onboard and get it working. You can look at each day and see what the menus are, then go and try to change Palo if needed.

I was on the Fantasy 9/23 Western, and we had ERAERRA (so the 1231223 pattern) and the 3 standard rotational menus for each of the 3 MDRs were the first 3 nights. I am absolutely certain about this for the 9/23 cruise we just came back from.

Menus for the remaining days on the Fantasy 9/23 Western were:
Day 4 - p&p
Day 5 - pirate (even though fireworks had to be canceled for this night)
Day 6 - capt gala
Day 7 - syrs

The captain menu (including lobster) was on day 6, the semi formal night for our cruise.

Thank you! The DCL blog shows the Capt Gala menu on day 2 but that navigator was missing so I couldn't confirm.
