Cap'n Crunch Ice Cream is now on my must-do list

Do you remember Boo-Berry, Count Chocula and Frankenberry cereal when you were a kid? Think it had flavoured & highly coloured mini marshmallows. It would turn the milk in your bowl into neon blue or pink?

Those are still around! They have special boxes around Halloween time.

I almost forgot to update this thread.

So yes, I went to Sprinkles and had the Captain Crunch ice cream.

First off, one reason I never go out for ice cream is the price. With tax, it was over $5 for a single scoop of ice cream. I can buy 2 cartons for that price at home. But that's beside the point.

The Captain Crunch ice cream was good. It had pieces of cereal in it but they lose their consistency in there so they aren't crunchy and you don't really get a distinct taste of the cereal. I think they need to up the ratio of cereal to ice cream. I would have preferred more cereal and less ice cream.

If you want something different, I think this is a fun option. I don't think I'd go back for it again but as I said in my OP, I'm not a big ice cream guy in general.

The best part of our visit to Sprinkles was running into @WebmasterJackie and her daughter while we were there :-).

I went before the Mega Meet show and got the capt crunch sample and the CM suggested it with a strawberry cupcake as a sundae. I got what she suggested and it was amazing! It tastes just like the capt crunch with berries! I'll be going back for that for sure!!

I got a sundae as well but with the salty caramel cupcake (plus cap 'n' crunch ice cream). I'm not a big dessert person but totally loved it! I'd go back for that again a heartbeat. Much better than store bought Breyers or the like.

I will admit that I'm not a huge ice cream guy. I much prefer Italian ice (water ice for you locals) but after hearing Pete mention this on the show, I've put it on my list for our upcoming trip. I promise to report back after I have it.

Slightly off topic, but if you make it out to Disneyland, you've got to try Joe's Italian Ice. Sooo good!
