We will be travelling to WDW in Sunday, and we're going to be staying at the Beach Club for 8 nights. We'd like to have our first dinner near the resort, so I've narrowed it down to either Cape May or Flying Fish. We will be with our two dd's (ages 4 and7), and all of us are avid seafood lovers. I'm really torn between these two options, and I'd love some opinions on which we should choose.

Flying Fish without question as far as I am concerned. I do not have kids though.

Quality - Flying Fish hands down

Quantity - Cape May buffet

I love them both but for different reasons...FF is a more upscale menu and large wine list, we are headed there Friday night for the third time and I cannot wait!..Cape May is pig out time for hubby, he loves the littlenecks and I love the ribs.

Well, you are sort of comparing apples to oranges. They are both good but differrent. Cape May is more casual buffet while Flying fish is more sit down/fine dining. More apt comparisons would be Cape May vs Chef Mickeys vs Crystal Palace vs Boma etc. While Flying Fish would be compared to other places such as Jiko or Todd English or that restaurant-in-steamboat whose name eludes me...

If you are going to be staying at the Beach Club for many nights, why dont you do both?

Do you mean THIS Sunday? It's pretty short notice for an ADR, esepcially I'd think at FF. Try checking them both online and even see what you would get.

I agree that they are both very good. I think with kids, though, I'd go to Cape May. Flying Fish is excellent (and expensive!) and to me more of an adult restaurant, maybe because the menu is more gourmet?? Cape May is a buffet with a great variety. Try both for sure...but I think the kids will love, love Cape May!! :cheer2:

From your ticker it looks like you are on the Dining Plan. Remember, Flying Fish is 2 TS credits while Cape May is one.

Given that you have two young kids, Cape May is better suited. It is fun for kids (coloring on the table cloth) and has more food choices for them as they don't have to stick to a kid's menu.

I think they're definitely 2 different types of experiences but I would have to go with FF for sure. The quality is just a lot better. We like Cape May for breakfast but didn't find it to be that great for dinner although I know there's many that will disagree. It's a "clambake" and that's the atmosphere.

FF has a much different atmosphere, more "classy", YET still kid-friendly. DD and I love to sit at the kitchen counter area. (great way to taste some new things sometimes too;))
