We have an adr for cape may on 11/29 at 8:35 but they added another fantasmic at 8 pm and would prefer this one to 6:30 because We would really like to enjoy the osborne lights so we can get into boma for late adr 9:25 so which would you choose?

I would choose Bom [or any other place possible] rather than Cape May..it was the worst meal of our entire trip in Sep 2009.

I have been to both and found the food to be better at Boma. Cape May was uninspiring.:wizard:

Boma. Food is good and the lodge is beautiful. Cape May only just o.k. IMO

Although we really enjoyed our meal at Cape May in August, I would agree with Boma which is our favourite buffet anywhere.

Cape May is lots of seafood. Boma is not.
So if you want seafood,...choice is easy.

We loved Boma and would go there before just about anywhere! It is something special.

ok but is the food really overpowering like alot of people say at boma?this has me a little concerned I am in charge of the whole trip planning and I don't want the others to dislike their meals. So for those of you who have tried it please give me your opinions about the flavors/seasonings and also has anyone went to a late adr and if so how was the food quality so late before closing?

Boma, Boma, Boma.
Three votes for Boma here.

9:35 is late to eat for me to eat especially at Boma. The food is so good you can't help but to stuff yourself.

I am going to go against the majority and say Cape May! My family loves it and has gone the last 2 years.(The adults all love seafood, and the kids like the kids' choices and the hotel atmosphere in general.) We like to try new things, but everyone said that Cape May was a must do again for this past trip. We did try BOMA also because I had heard it was a must try. To be honest we were all disappointed. The food was a little strong and too sweet for us. I was also unimpressed with the atmosphere of the restaurant, but not with the resort. Next summer, Cape May will be a must do again, but we won't be doing Boma.

We loved the food, our DS did too.

The only downside to Boma at that time of night is the travel after you're done. Where're you staying?

We love BOTH! But they are totally polar opposites. So you have to decide what kind of food your family would enjoy more. Seafood - fresh oysters, crab legs, etc. or an African-inspired buffet that's going to have LOTS of new things to try.

We enjoy both types so last time we went to both.

Don't read too much into the reviews. It's all subjective. People love/don't love Boma, just as people love/don't love Cape May. Decide which one sounds good to you and just take the plunge! :)

If I understand you correctly, you want to see Fantasmic! and then go to a late dinner at Boma after seeing the Osborne Lights. I would recommend against that ... I don't think you'll make it to AKL in time for your dinner reservation.

We vote Boma. By far the best buffet ever. One thing we really appreciate is that they don't put out large pans of food. They use smaller ones and replace them with regularity, so you don't end up with something that has been sitting for too long. They also cook in the open right behind the buffet, which is pretty cool! Even picky eaters will find plenty to eat.

Haven't eaten at Cape May, but I adore Boma. We have been 3 or 4 times, and our visit last week was so good I have just added it on to our Christmas trip as well! I just love all the different foods there!

we think Boma is the best dinner buffet at the World. The grilled meats and fish of the day are usually pretty "normal"--they just might have some type of spice rub or marinate that bring in the African flavors. They have a salad bar--greens are greens, but the toppers and side salads are just more creative than you tend to see at a traditional "american" salad bar. I think where it veers off to the unusual is the rest of the buffet--the sides, soups and hummus bar are all very authentic--and delicious! It's the only dinner buffet we have returned to multiple times.

we ate at the Clam Bake for the first time this last trip. we enjoyed it, but don't know if we would go again. It is very seafood heavy (although i would say the ribs are the best ones i have had so far at WDW). If you are going for the crab legs, I would say it's not worth it. I found them to be waterlogged, flavorless and not a lot of crabmeat for the work involved. There was a lobster casserole was very good.

Going against the grain here too, and picking Cape May. I found the savoury food at Boma rather sweet and cinnamon-y...

BOMA is the best buffet at WDW in my opinion.

CapeMay does not have the best seafood. I should know I'm from Maryland the capital of crabcakes and other seafood.

Back to Boma

They have various breads and spreads
Salads and various dressings
fruits
fish of the day usually salmon
some kind of beef used to be prime rib
african side dishes - veggies
Hummus
crackers
watermelon rind salad out of this world
desserts zebra domes are outstanding
the list goes on.

we are staying at Pop I was also concerned about traveling after maybe we will skip dinner ressies and just get something back at pop or go to dtd

Correct but lights first then 8 pm fantasmic was concerned about the time also guess we will skip it we do have a breakfast adr for departure day so is the breakfast at boma any better than dinner(seasoning wise that is)?
