I am currently booked for dinner at the Cape May Cafe (never been before) and am wondering if I should change it to the 1900 Park Fare. How is the food at both places? What about the service? Is the selection better at one versus the other?

Don't change! My sister and brother-in-law ate at CM in July and loved the food. When we ate at CM two years ago, we thought the food was good. We had a horrible experience in March at Park Fare and the food wasn't good, but the character interaction was fun.

If you like seafood then keep Cape May if not then I would change.

i agree if you like seafood stay with cape may. My dfi HATES buffets but she did enjoy cm last time we went in July.

We have done both in the past year. If characters are not an issue for you, then Id stick with Cape May. We thought the food and service was great. We were seated within minutes of checking in to our reservation, and we loved exploring the Yacht Club/Beach Club after dinner.

The characters at 1900 are a riot! We enjoyed our meal, but mostly because of the characters. Service was slow, and food was good but not great. The buffet lines were very crowded, compared to only a few people at a time at Cape May.

Also, we had to wait 40 minutes to be sat at 1900 -- which caused us to miss Spectro that night!

If characters are not important to you -- Id go with Cape May. The only thing that makes me lean towards 1900 is the chance to meet Cindy and the gang!

I don't eat seafood, but prefer Cape May over 1900 (that was the worst meal we ever had at Disney (dinner....breakfast was good)).

We have been to Cape May 6 times and it is excellent...we both love the food there, sooo much to choose from and the service has always been excellent.

We did 1900 PF in January and the hour wait past our ADR time, the horrible service and the inedible food made this place a huge BOMB for us. The food was just so gross that we all left hungry.

I have read many great reviews of CM but none on 1900 PF

We haven't been to CM but we love 1900! The characters are great and the food is tasty. I'd recommend it to anyone at least to try once.

We never been to Cape May for dinner. But love 1900. Good food & fun.
:cool1::thumbsup2:yay::woohoo::banana:

We always do both and lately the dinner buffet at 1900 is really good.It seems like they have stepped it up a notch over time....

We did both last year and didn't have great food or service at either:sad2:. If I had to pick one I'd give the slight edge to 1900PF because the stepsisters are very funny and entertaining. Yet the oreo bon-bons at Cape May were good. Ack, I'm no help:rotfl:.

We did both Cape May and 1900 PF this week. 1900 PF was better. It had much more variety. Seafood at CM was small clams, mussels, salmon, peel and eat shrimp. The ribs were the best thing at Cape May.

We did have to wait to be seated at 1900PF.

I vote for Cape May. We have eaten there mabye 6 times in the last five years and feel they have really improved the quality of things.

This year was very special becase we were the first family seated for the evening meal and our DD got to ring the dinner belling calling everyone to dinner. We were seated at the Light House talble just in side th doors (table for 4) and had excellent service including a visit from the chefs welcoming us and asking if everything was OK. This cost Disney nothing but the Pixi Dust made for a special memory and made us feel valued.:thumbsup2:cool1:

We went to 1900 Park fare and the food was not good but great character interaction (we went for the character interaction so we did not feel bad for not good food)...we had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and it was good food but I would not go for dinner. We only been to Cape May breakfast and liked and hoping to go to CM for dinner in our future...I have been reading good reviews.
