We just decided to go for the week of Jan. 8-14. Cape May is totally full when I look online. This is one of our absolute favorites! :sad2: I'm going to keep trying and call to get ADRs.....

but I'm wondering if you guys would be willing to share your #1 favorite place so we can hopefully try something new and not be disappointed if we can't get in.

We have 5 kids, but they do great at restaurants and we have a couple character meals already, so hoping for something non-character. thanks for your help!!!

Are you on a dining plan? Buffets? Signatures? Standard TS restaurants?

Not sure which meal you are looking at for Cape May...bkfst or dinner...

Cape May & Kona are our fave places for bkfst.
Ohana is our fave for dinner.

Never eaten at Via Napoli, but I have heard great things about that place.

Favorite non signature is Saana. Other favorites are Wave, Turf Club, Ragland Road, Rose & Crown. We are not big on buffets but we do like Biergarten.

Our favorite character breakfast is Tusker House. For non character we love Sanaa and Biergarten, they both keep Dd busy.

We have several favorites. We are also a family that includes picky eaters.

Rose & Crown
Le Cellier (lunch)
Ohana (dinner)
Cape May (dinner)
Whispering Canyon (breakfast) love the French toast
Liberty Tree tavern (dinner)

Works for us!! :)

Spoodles for breakfast until it changed sure do miss breakfast there.

We have 3 girls all under 10 - just for reference purposes. All of these we'd go back to for sure.

Signature? Prob not given you mentioned Cape May, but Yachtsman even with the kids was fantastic and is in same area

Character? You say you already have some. We've done most of them and these two stand out:

1900 Park Fare dinner - Excellent buffet, opportunity to visit the GF, and good character interaction (entertaining step sisters and mother) with characters you don't see other places

Tusker breakfast - Superb buffet (we do it late am so it's more of a brunch and tides us over to very late in the day when we can get an easy CS dinner.

Regular?
Chefs de France was a real nice surprise. Atmosphere great, food great

La Hacienda was solid, Great/more traditional mexican - picky kids might be difficult here

Ohana - wow - supurb and different food

Boma - like Hacienda, picky people might disagree but I thought the buffet was outstanding and gave the opportunity to try so many new things

We love Kona for breakfast and Rose & Crown for dinner. We have not yet been to Captain's Grille, The Wave, or Via Napoli but we've heard good reviews and plan to try them in 2012.

Of all the TS we've done...that aren't signature or character meals...here are our faves, in order of preference:

Ohana
Boma
Coral Reef
Yak-N-Yeti
Boatwrights
T-Rex
(we were very pleasantly surprised with the food here)
Sci-Fi(kids and I like, but DH not so much)

My kids like all these places...some we went to when they were little and they liked it then too (and my 2 DDs are picky eaters). We were nervous about Boma the 1st time we went there, but we all loved it. Ohana is the big fave of our family...we all roll out of there all stuffed to the gills. Coral Reef, we only went as a family 1 time...years ago. It was 2 TS then and we loved it...it was delish and the atmoshpere is awesome. My DS liked it so much that a few years later, he and his cousin went there on their own for lunch (they were 11 and 13). They used our deluxe DDP there and paid cash tip. They wanted to see how much their meal could be...we were all trying to maximize our meal tabs to get the most out of our Dlx DDP. Their tab came to about $100 for the 2 of them and they left a $20 tip. They were quite pleased with themselves. Boatwright's is our 'hidden gem'. It is delish, but not a lot of people like it and so it's an easy ADR to get. Sci-Fi is a fun meal and some food is good and some food is not that great, but overall it's a nice meal. Yak-N-Yeti, we went to when they had just opened. It was yummy! My kids do love Asian food, so they liked it. T-rex has great theming, but we had expected it to be blah food like we had at Rainforest Cafe. It wasn't that bad actually and we were quite impressed. By the way, we too love Cape May Cafe.

As of last week, Via Napoli is my new favorite! Food was so fresh and delicious. The pizza was amazing. Everyone in our party of 8 loved it.

I agree with the Kona suggestion. It was our favorite meal on our last trip.

Breakfast - Check out Tusker House at AK

Dinner - Captains Grille!

Thank you SO much! We are going to do one sit down meal a day and this gives me lots to look into and think about.

I'm trying not to be totally bummed about Cape May cuz we look forward to it every time...but maybe if we don't get in we can try somewhere new that was suggested and we will find a new favorite. :thumbsup2

Thank you!!!

or that a no show last min.

I'm also a big fan of Cape May. We did this three times in September-Oct on the dinning plan and never waited more than 20mins.

You might also consider Teppan Edo--it's consistently the best and most-entertaining meal we have all trip.

Keep checking, someone may cancel. Cape May is one of our favourites too. Others include:
Yak and Yeti, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, Tutto Italia and 'Ohana.
For breakfast we like all the buffets except Chef Mickey's.

'Ohana - great family-style meal, which basically means they bring a whole buffet to your table! Also a tricky one for reservations though. If you like BBQ, Whispering Canyon's skillet is a family favorite for us!
