Is it a good place for kids? Is there the typical kid fare there? Is it worth the money, and what kind of items should I expect? I have never been in my 20 or so times to Disney, and want to know more about it before I give it a try with my family.

Thanks :)

Here's a review link for you, Glo: Cape May Buffet

There's a table at one of the corners of the buffet short enough for children with WDW's assortment of mac & cheese, hotdogs and chicken tenders. There's links to the menu from the review link above.

My family loves this meal and we'll be doing it again on our next trip. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Glo - Our family has long loved Cape May. Aside from good salads, clams and such they also have some familiar dishes, one similar to pot roast, some kind of baked fish, and peel and eat shrimp. On the kids buffet I've seen chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, fried shrimp, and mini corn dogs. They also have fresh fruit in the salad area, and clam chowder with my 2 yr old loved.

We were just at Cape Mays last Friday night and we fell in Love with this Buffet. They have clams, mussels, shrimp, chiken, ribs, prime rib and fried fish, and a Huge salad bar.The kids bar had Mac and chez, chicken tenders and pizza and some more things that i cannot remember as we dont have kids. The Dessert bar is Wonderful with cheesecake, key lime pie, brownies, cookies Creme brulee.I dont think you will be disappointed with the buffet it was one of our best meals.

One of our favorites!!

I don't eat seafood, my husband LOVES seafood, my daughter is adventurous and my son doesn't like hardly anything. Well, let me tell you, we ALL loved this one, it was delicious!

We plan on returning many times. :)

Enjoy!

The Cape May Clam Bake is a great meal!
My DS and I love the food. There really is something for everyone.
Absolutely the best buffet. Well worth the price.
Enjoy!!!!!

Yes, yes, yes to Cape May - loved it - great selection of food and if there's any room left, a super dessert station ;)

Infact I think it's possibly the best buffet onsite I've been too - I'm even considering having Christmas dinner there :)

Two thumbs WAYYY up for the clambake! It is the only sit-down restaurant I must return to this time (I'm trying to try all new places this time, but I couldn't turn down the clambake). Great selection of food for both seafood lovers and land lubbers; when we went the kids buffet had chicken strips, mini hot dogs, fish nuggets & mac and cheese. Plus our kids liked the fruit, corn and potatoes. I loved the ribs, sauteed veggies, and the desserts!!! It was one of the best dessert bars I have ever seen! You gotta go!

2 questions about this buffet...
...how are the clams prepared...steamed, raw?
and can the kids eat off of the regular buffet i.e.the clams too or just the kid buffet area?

thanks

Clams are steamed and the kids can eat anything found on the huge, four-sided buffet.

If you don't eat steamed clams or mussels and no one in your party does, is it worth it? Do they have fried clams by chance? Love 'em!! What types of seafood selections are there minus the steamed clams and mussels?

Boy, you people are relentless! :teeth:

Here's the menu link (note, it was just updated): Cape May Clambake Buffet

The Prime Rib carving station is new since I've been and can't wait to give that a try! I love the New England Clam Chowder and my wife says the steamed clams are very good.

I hope this helps answer your questions as to what is served. It really is an excellent meal. And, let me again say, leave room for some dessert, you'll thank me later. ;)

Hello - We just ate there on Saturday (myself and 2 DD's-7). No to the fried clams but they had cod(fried) with chips, mussels, clams, peel & eat shrimp, seafood gumbo, and great clam chowder. Also had corn on the cob and the little red potatoes. Ceasar salad, fruit salad, potato salad, regular salad. Mixed veggies that were very good, mashed potatoes, pasta alfredo, chicken, very good ribs. Kids had mac & cheese, chicken fingers. Desserts were great - chocolate cake, cheesecake, cookies, apple crisp. The buffet is really great - something for everyone. My kids love it. We have been several times. Go - you will love it.
