Cape May Clam Bake?

We were there in Nov. We thought it was MUCH MUCH better than Chef Mickey's. The food was much better. There were more offerings, it was better tasting and the desserts were SOOOO much better at Cape May.
Now Cape May Clam Bake is NOT a Character meal. Just a buffet. But we thought it was quite good. My husband did not like it as much as I did but he still Liked it MUCH better than Chef Mickey's.
Try the Oreo Bon Bon's so good!!!!

We did Cape May for Christmas dinner and were not impressed. The food was just okay and I didn't think the dessert bar was that great. We did Chef Mickey's the next night and enjoyed it much more. Of course, Chef Mickey's is always a last night tradition for us and it was our first time at Cape May. My girls just weren't thrilled with the limited seafood offerings and I just thought it was okay. We won't go back to Cape May but will continue with CM as our last tradition.

Cape May is the best buffet dinner at WDW, IMHO, and the desserts beat any other buffet hands down. We found plenty on the buffet for both seafood and non-seafood eaters.

We were there this October. I was all prepared to love it. What a let down! The shrimp was so over done it was mealy and the clams/mussels were rubbery. We went early(taking the advice of these boards and it was still poor). The desserts were good though, but not good enough to justify the poor dinner.

Not better or worse food wise..but I never eaten anywhere at Disney where they were more accomodating than at Cape May. I like my shrimp cold..it is warm on the buffet-all I had to do was ask and after even asking for just a few-I got a whole bowl(think flat soup bowl full) of fresh cooked cold shrimp!!!It's not the same food as Chef Mickey's-but really delicious and I could have done fine with just the clams and shrimp..and I typically don't seek out seafood anywhere.HTH

My family and I went to this last year. We were not impressed at all. This is not what I consider SEAFOOD at all! The shrimp was in warm water and looked more like prawns. The clams were not "normal" looking at all either. All the seafood was pretty bad. The other food was okay. Perhaps since our family is from the Massachusetts/NewHampshire area we are really lucky to know what real lobster, shrimp and clams are all about. I guess if you are not a true seafood nut you will probably be satisfied. I would not recommend this.
Chef Mickey's would be a better option if that's your only other choice.
