We have ressies at Cape May Cafe. We will be staying at CBR. I know I could get a bus to EPCOT and take the International Walkway to The BC, but I want to stay out of the park. I am planning on taking a bus to TTC and then a bus to BC (Cape May). About how long might this route take ? Can anybody suggest a different/better/quicker route ?

I would take a taxi. CBR is close to the Epcot resorts. Probably no more than $10 one-way. We plan to taxi from CBR to Cape May Cafe on our upcoming trip to have breakfast there. Then bus from CMC to the waterpark. All those buses you are talking about will waste a lot of time. We did take a bus from AS Movies to Epcot and walked through IG to Cape May Cafe... it's a fairly long walk... we did it because we stopped in Future World on the way to do some of the morning magic hour.

Another option is to take the bus to the studios and then take the boat to the BC. No need to enter the park.

Are you saying there is a boat that travels from Disney Hollywood Studios to The BC ?

Yes... but I never found it to be a quick way to go. It's a nice boat ride between Hollywood Studios and the Epcot area resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk) not sure I got the right order of stops. It also stops at International Gateway. Back in 2008, we just missed the boat at HS and ended up waiting near 30 minutes for the next boat. Other times, caught the boat in about 5 minutes. Then I'll guess about 10-20 minutes for the boat ride. It would be a nice ride if not in a hurry.

P.S. If you are going in the evening, be sure to check out the Boardwalk entertainers... we had a great time there! They perform on the Boardwalk outside the area of Boardwalk Inn/Flying Fish Cafe starting around 6pm. Magic, Comedy, Juggling, Balancing, Audience Participation.

There is a boat that goes from DHS to 1 stop for Swan/Dolphin, 1 stop for the Boardwalk, 1 stop for BC/YC, then 1 stop at the International Gateway at Epoct; then it reverses the run back through the resorts and to DHS. Actually I think there are several boats running at any one time.

Take the bus from CBR to DHS. As you walk towards the bag check/ticket gates, look to your right. You will realize you are going over the waterway. Once you are over it, turn right down the walkway to the boat loading area. You don't go in to DHS so you don't have to use a park admission.

I don't know for sure but I expect the boats start running the same time as the busses, because anyone at the Epcot-area resorts who has a pre-rope-drop ADR at DHS would need transport.

how early do the boats start to run just curious for an early morning ADR.

We were going to stay at the Boardwalk Inn this trip and have an 8am ADR in HS. The resort people told us the boats start running from there about 7:15/7:30 so... if that's correct, I'll guess you might expect a boat at HS by 7:30/7:45. I'm still thinking for $10 you could take a taxi from CBR to Beach Club and get there in about 5 minutes drive time. I'm also not a morning person...:surfweb:

There's 9 of us. That might take a few taxis.

If you're not averse to walking, there is a proper path that runs alongside the canal that the boat takes from the Studios. It's a 15-20 walk.

And often it is quicker to walk than to take the boat - it is REALLY slow. :goodvibes

The OP's route won't work because you cannot take a bus to or from TTC at any resort.

Take the bus to Hollywood Studios. Then either ride the boat or walk to Beach Club.

There are not any buses from Hollywood Studios to Beach Club. There's just the boat. The sequence of boat stops is: DHS, Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk, Epcot. the boat ride itself will take about 15-20 minutes, not counting time spent waiting for the boat to arrive, empty, load and launch.

I think the only time it is faster to take the boat than it is to walk is if you are going from the Swan/Dolphin to DHS or vice versa, assuming you are not waiting too long for the boat to arrive. Maybe it is easier to take the boat to the Yacht/Beach than walk it, because the BC is the furthest resort in walking distance from DHS. I usually walk it unless the weather is bad.

That's one thing I wondered about... if staying at an Epcot area resort like the Boardwalk Inn. I don't want to do that walk with children... I don't mind all the walking in the parks but I don't want to tire them out just getting to the park. So, the boat would be my only choice. Wouldn't the boats stop running if there is thunder/lightning? Do they provide buses then? A bus would seem to be so much faster than the boat since Hollywood Studios is so close.

That is a very good question and I hope someone has more info. for this. It doesn't seem like that could be the case that there is no bus. I believe for WL even though there is a boat to MK there is also a bus, which is a similar situation.

Yes they do; and yes they do. If the boats are shut down, that is the only time buses will be provided from DHS to the Epcot resorts (besides special circumstances like some after-hours events). But from personal and recent experience (May 2011) this is not arranged quickly or efficiently and delays should be expected.

There is a regular bus than runs between DHS and the front of Epcot. But there are no regular buses between DHS and the Epcot resorts.

No buses from resorts to TTC or back again.
So, take a bus to DHS and then either walk (15-20 mins) or take the boat (15 mins plus wait times which could be 15 addtl mins) to YC/BC.
Or, a cab.

Are you saying there is a boat that travels from Disney Hollywood Studios to The BC ?
Yep....when it leaves DHS, it stops at S/D, then YC/BC, then BW and finally to Epcot. The return trip is just the opposite...BW, YC/BC, S/D and DHS. The actual boat ride, DHS to Epcot, takes 25 mins, not including wait times.

At least an hour prior to park opening.

Yes, they do, but it doesn't happen often. Nothing you should count on. I've stayed at S/D, BC and BW many, many times and I have never been in a situation where the boats were stopped due to weather.
Not having to take a bus to DHS is a huge plus of staying at BW. It is not considered a drawback.

Mears (Disney's official taxi provider) does offer vans. I'd think 2 vans would be enough, because they are 7 pasenger. Just call the front desk of your resort, tell them you need a taxi and they will transfer you to Mears. They will ask how many people and get you set up. Mears, in my experience at CBR, will ask you which building you are in and pick you up in the nearest parking lot. This is what I would do. If you need a car seat, a van is your only option anyway, as the cars do not carry them. Call at least 15 minutes in advance of needing to depart. You can also arrange them the day before, I think.

The fastest easiest way is a taxi, there are large vans even if you need 2 it will be worth it for the peace of mind and time saving.

We did this trip one morning from CBR to the Cape May Cafe. It's not bad. I would suggest the bus to Hollywood Studios and then the boat to Swan/Dolphin and walking to the Beach Club. It's not exactly "fast," but it's a nice scenic trip and leaves you off where you need to be. Especially if you're going for dinner and not breakfast it works fine, but we've done it for both.
