Cape May Cafe

I didn't get to this place on my trip last week. It is one of our favorite buffets for both breakfast and lunch. It is on the smaller side (the room) and fairly low key. I've always like the offerings on the buffet--a nice selection of different things.

They used to have "miniature" desserts on the dessert bar and they were always very good.

I can't say if they have changed or not this year. I did go to 1900 Park Fair this past week and was fairly disappointed. I felt the food quality and selection was very mediocre and and gone downhill from previous visits. So, I'm not sure if this is a "Disney-wide" occurrence or just there.

If you do a search you will find a ton of recent posts about this place. It is super good, we love it for breakfast and dinner!

We will be there again for both meals next week!

It was our least favorite meal of the week. Not horrible, just not not as good as others. We're not going back there this time. But others really like it, so YMMV.

Sorry to say but Cape May was by far the worst meal we've ever had at WDW. DS(16) could not find a single thing he liked and that's saying something considering a teenage boy will eat about anything.

DH & I loved the atmosphere and our stroll to the Boardwalk, but that's about it.

Huh, that is weird, I just found a bunch when I searched Cape May.....

:yay: We recently ate dinner at Cape May Buffet in March. It was very good. We are going back for dinner in May. The clams and mussels were wonderful. There are two types of clams, garlic and plain. The ceasar salad is fresh, and there is a good variety of other salads. There is also a children's section with chicken, pizza and hot dogs. The desserts are very good and they are minature, so you can sample different ones. Enjoy!:yay:

I agree with these posters :scared1:   :scared1:  .This is the worst dining experience we have had in WDW. Seafood is not good, but I am spoiled coming from New England we have the best seafood.

It was okay, we did it once but I dont think we will be back again. DD wasnt impressed, I was a bit hungry still when we left. We went for Dh so he could eat his seafood and as much as he liked. But he also said he had better and didnt want to go again on this upcoming trip.

What about the breakfast? That is when we are going there.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go there if I wasn't staying at the Yacht or Beach club, as it is fairly small. When we went, it wasn't crowded at all, so the character interaction was excellent.

We ate at Cape May Cafe last June. We enjoyed it very much. I am no fan of seafood:eek: but I found plenty to eat, even some seafood items. We are going back this June (55 days :yay: ) and are taking our seafood-luvin friends along. We won't repeat if it's not worth it!:goodvibes

We went for the breakfast in Jan. It was great. Food was fresh and excellent. The characters spent a lot of time with you and came around to the tables several times. This was our second time for breakfast and will be going back for sure. We have never been for lunch or dinner.

We really enjoyed the character breakfast in Feb. It may have been the best character meal we have been to. Our ADR was right as the place opened (DS is an early riser) and so all of the food was fresh and the characters had lots of time to spend with us because there weren't too many other people around. The food was the usual Disney breakfast fare but there was a really good yougurt/fruit parfait bar and some really yummy breakfast potatoes. We liked it much, much better than CM's breakfast.

It's obviously a matter of your taste, as some don't like it and some do. We loved breakfast there a few years back. Last year we went on the spur of the moment for dinner, and it turned out to be the most enjoyable meal of the trip. All 4 of us and we have some picky eaters in our group.

I love going there for breakfast and we have reservations again in june for that one sharing with other family members.

I'm surprised to see so many negative comments about Cape May's dinner. I think things may have slipped a little from where it was 5+ years ago. But it's still on our "must-do" list every trip.

I don't eat any seafood, and always really like their ribs, chicken, whatever beef/pasta dish they make, potatoes. The chicken strips from the kids buffet are the best chicken strips around - I've read others make this comment too. And the desserts are still good. Again, they may have been a little better 5+ years ago, but they are still very good. The oreo bon-bons are a chocolate lover's dream come true.

We ate at Cape May this past January. We enjoyed the breakfast and thought that the character interaction was great! :thumbsup2

We ate there in Sept and it was a great breakfast. Food was much better then CM's & great character interaction! We had a late ADR and were one of the last ones in the restaurant for breakfast. Goofy came over for the 3rd time and played tic tac toe with my DS. Goofy saw DS was gonna win so cheated and my kids thought it was hilarious. One of our favorite moments of our whole trip! I so am looking forward to breakfast there during our trip this Dec.
