I would go with Cape May because we have never had a bad meal there but the one meal we had at Chef Mickeys was terrible!

I'd go with Cape May, but it's heavy on seafood. The non seafood dishes are good too, just not as many of them as on the other buffets if you have non-seafood eaters in your party. Of course they'll all have carved turkey!

At this late date you would have slim ADR availability to choose from and might just have to go with whatever is available.

I've eaten at both Cape May Cafe and Chef Mickey's and I personally prefer Cape May Cafe. They have a really great salad bar and yummy soups. Of course the rest of the food is delicious too. :) They also have some awesome desserts.

Then you can check out the great Christmas decorations at the Beach Club!

Chef Mickeys is better for me. The food was good, and I love the atmosphere there... Cape May has okay food and the lines for the buffet were huge! (but that was in the middle of summer)

Cape May did twice for Thanksgiving:thumbsup2
Beautiful resort to walk around the grounds, too.

Call to inquire, because the last time we had our Thanksgiving there, they were taking walk-ups around dinner-time.

Good Luck, enjoy!!

I really think Chef Mickey's food quality is better over Cape May. It's such a different atmosphere too!:wizard:

It depends.
Cape May we definitely prefer the food at (and that's with us not even touching the seafood side!)
Chef Mickey's... not too fond of. Did Thanksgiving there last year, turkey and thanksgiving items were okay.... so that was what saved dinner from being terrible. If not Thanksgiving, then nope, wouldn't do dinner there at all.

What are your park plans? If one location fits into your plans better, then go with that.... such as if going to be in the MK area that day, and then if would like to have the characters, then definitely do CM. If dont' care about the characters and want a better meal and CMay is convenient to get to - then definitely go for that!

Thanksgiving is our arrival day so I'm not sure we'll hit a park. We arrive at noon and would love to see the parade at AK so probably just do that and maybe Festival of the Lion King. We are staying a the Beach Club so from a convenience stand point Cape May works well.

I should also mention we did Chef Mickey last year for late breakfast, but have never done Cape May. I just thought it would be cute to have T-giving with Mickey :goodvibes. Funny thing is, I've been talking to my kids about it and they say they don't care where we eat as long as it's a good Thanksgiving dinner. By the looks of the poll and responses, it sounds like Cape May has the better buffet. I did call and inquire as to what they have and they will have traditional Thanksgiving dinner in addition to their regular buffet.

I appreciate everyone's help with this one!

I would go to Cape May because it is a bit quieter and the food slightly better, imho. I think it would make for a nice way to celebrate Thanksgiving- I believe they are adding Turkey to their menu for the day along with the usual seafood.

We weren't impressed with CM the last few times we went with the atmosphere, hostess and food. I do know that things change and perhaps we weren't lucky on the days we went.

Good luck, I hope you have a great trip and Thanksgiving

I have done Cape May 3x for the holidays, 2 Thanksgiving, one Christmas. I have enjoyed it all the times we were there, but no one in my party at the time were big seafood eaters, so some of that my have been lost on us, but the holiday stuff was GREAT...

This year, I have scored Chef Mickeys. We have a 8:30 seating, though I would love one sooner...but I figure cant judge it till you try it

Cape May will be having Thanksgiving buffet. I'm not sure how much of their usual buffet will be served. (I spoke with Disney Dining to see who would be serving traditional Thanksgiving dinner.) We have reservations there for dinner, so I'm throwing my hat in for Cape May!

This is our second year going to Cape May for Thanksgiving. It was great last year with a little bit of everything to it. I didn't enjoy Chef Mickey's dinner when I was there in July.
