Never been here before. How is the food & service? What characters are there? How is the interaction? Is dinner better?

IMHO, the Cape May Character Breakfast is the best character breakfast on property. Despite the fact that our son and daughter are adults now and living with their families, my wife and I still have breakfast there each trip. The food is very good, especially the bread pudding, and the atmosphere is extremely relaxed.

My fiance and I went to Cape May Cafe! We had a great time. The food was good! no complaints

I'm going to be the ONLY person to say we HATED it and won't be back! Let me begin with the fact that 'we' were the kids, no kids attached to us (all grown). Had 9:10 ressies, arrived the requested 15 minutes early, at 9:40, finally asked what was the hold up-they immediately went and got the 'manager' who must of been having one hell of a day. She started spouting off at me that it's a waste of revenue to seat a '2' at a '4 topper' (table for 4). Told her I agreed, but we'd been there about 45 minutes waiting already and if there were no '2 toppers' then why were we given the ressie for 9:10?? She walked away from me, not a word said. Next thing I know, we were seated at a table for 4. And here I was earlier making fun of this other guy throwing a fit for waiting so long..........
As we were being walked to our table, must of passed 6 small (2 person) booths along the side and back walls that were empty. Our waitress NEVER came by to ask us if we wanted drinks, etc. Flagged one down and she said it wasn't her area........food was mediocre. Very few choices, what was there was good, but mediocure. When we were ready to leave, couldn't get our check!!! Finally told my sis that they have our room #, let 'em charge it to the room and got up to leave. Our waitress FINALY shows up and my sis said we never got any drinks and now have been waiting on our check. Reply from the waitress was, "Well, you never asked for anything". As far as the character interaction goes, what we saw was great and the kids loved it.
At certain times they take a character into a closed off dining area and you can get your (or your kids) pic taken with them. I must say, our interaction and lack of service was unusual for as many times as we've eaten in WDW.
Still, as they say, first impressions...................

We always stay at the YC/BC and our traditional last breakfast before leaving for the airport is always at Cape May. We find that if you get one of the first seatings of the morning, it's perfect :thumbsup2 It's generally around 7:30am. The food is all fresh and abundant-the characters spend a LOT of time with you as the restaurant is not crowded yet :) I've not been later in the morning, but first thing in the AM is awesome and always a must-do! :thumbsup2

Based on recommendations of the Dis I booked a brunch at Cape May Cafe on our last morning-

Compared to Crystal Palace (our other character breakfast) there wasn't enough choice in food- but that may be because I don't eat anything with breakfast meat in it. The food was good though.

It was just DBF and myself and character interaction was great. Dale made DBF smile the biggest smile I'd seen all trip (Dale took DBF's arm and put it around him and started rubbing it, DBF is quite "manly" so it was extra funny)

If I had to do it again, I would chose somewhere else.

It's our fav. character breakfast. Love the brightness and colors and the character interaction was great. The place was very clean and just a fun place to start your day.

To answer your questions, we've always had great food & service here. DS 10 was easily able to eat his "adult" TS value. Characters are Chip & Dale, Goofy & Minnie all in beach attire. We had great interaction in December, got some great pics of Goofy & Chip & Dale with my dad, playing around. Goofy even sat down next to my son, like he was joining us for breakfast :)

Dinner is a New England Clam Bake, and another meal that we love. However, it is not a character meal.

THis is a must do for us on every trip. We usually go at around 7:45, the place is empty and we get spoiled by the characters. They play games with you and write you notes on the paper tablecloths. They come around often and spend alot of time with you. We went in Oct at 10:15 and just saw 2 characters for a second and off they went. The other 2 never made it to us in the 40 minutes we were there.

The food has always been fantastic. Plenty of fresh fruit of every kind that you can imagine. Great yogurt bar with all the toppings, amazing bread pudding, crispy bacon, the best scrambled eggs, mickey waffles, 2 types of potatoes, very good biscuits and gravy, so much to choose from. We are going back in 78 days!

I go to Cape May every trip which equates to at least 6-8 times a year. There is a good variety of food, character interaction is great and it has a relaxed enviroment and we never feel rushed to leave. Over time - Dorothy C has become our favorite server and the only one we request, sometimes we have to wait for her but her quality of service and "Disney Magic" is worth it!!

I've been to Cape May character breakfast several times, solo and with other adults. I LOVE it. Food's great for breakfast. Service has always been good-one time my server wasn't the most attentive, which another server seemed to notice so, even though I wasn't in her area, she kept stopping by to check on me. The characters came by many times, about 3-4 times each, the most frequent character visits I've ever had. One time there, Goofy was sick, I guess, so Stitch arrived in his place. I often try to schedule a breakfast there when I'm at the BCV.

We agree.

The place isnt too big, so you get to see each of the charecters at least 2x during your breakfast.

the food is better then chef mickeys too.

best of all, because of it's location, it's rarely full. you can frequently eat there without adr's.

Thanks everyone for your input. Will definitely give this a try on my upcoming visit. Had planned for an early ADR, then head over to the Studios from there. I'm thinking the fastest way is probably the bus to the Studios, then grab the boat to the BC.

Thanks again!!

I think Cape May is a great breakfast. It seems less crowded and more under control than most. The character/kid ratio seems better.

The Clam Bake buffet on the other hand stinks.

Thank you for your input. Have heard mixed reviews for dinner and just thought breakfast would be easier & better. Thanks again!
