I'm looing for reviews on the Character breakfast at CMC at the Beach Club. Any oppinions (most specifically on the food). How early in the morning do they start seatings? How far in advance should PS be made? Thanks in advance for the imput.

The food here is quite good. It's also usually not quite a busy as some of the other CB's. I'd suggest a PS, although they can be easier to get a couple/few weeks closer to your date than some of the others, especially if you can be flexible on time.

I think they start serving at 7:30am.

Cape May Cafe -

Hi Meeko.
We ate here with a late PS on July 5th last summer and had a very good meal. The food was hot with a good variety. But it was the service we had from a waitress named Dorothy that really made the morning. It was obvious she loved what she was doing and even brought Minnie (who normally does not table-hop) to our table as the Breakfast time was just about over. Will eat here again this coming summer if all works out.
The Clambake here at dinner is also excellent! Have a great trip!! Bob

This character breakfast is pretty good. Minnie normally stays at the front of the restaurant where you enter. So you go to her for her autograph. Goofy, Chip and Dale visit the table. A very good selection of food. And the PS doesn't hurt by any means.

They usually have an omelet of some sort (not individually made, though), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, lots of fruit, pastries, oatmeal, grits, cereal. And blintzes - and they change the variety of them.

Not sure what time they open but we had a 7:50 PS last June.
We made that PS around 30 days out & still had some choices for a seating. I don't think this meal fills up as fast as the others.

The food, IMO, is excellent!!! They is something for every one. They also have made to order omlets. When we went the food was so fresh & hot, there was so many choices, even for me. ( I don't eat meat)

I agree with the previous poster, Dorothy is an A+ server! If you can try to sit at one of her tables! :)

Ate here in december and the food was very good. In fact it was the best breakfast we had on our 2 week trip. Character interaction was Excellent, overall well worth the money.

We ate here the first week of December. We also had Dorothy and she was GREAT! We made a PS for 10:30.. it was our no-park day. I figured it would not be busy with everyone else at the parks. Wrong! We waited about 20 minutes. When we finally got seated we could not even get to the buffet. There was a wedding party group of 20+ and they were attacking the buffet from both ends. I told Dorothy that I couldn't get near the egg section and she offered to go and get me whatever I wanted. I felt like a bit of a complainer at that point and told her thanks, but I would go later. Anyway the buffet had 4 sides (big square with workers in the middle) one with fruit, etc, one with pancakes/waffles, one with eggs, sausage, gravy, etc and one with pastries. I did not see an omelet station, but they had an egg dish with cheese and peppers in it. After we finally made it to all sides, we noticed that 10 minutes later there was no line. We saw the characters several times and Dorothy kept us full of juice and coffee. The food was good, but the experience was a bit chaotic.

There is not an omelet station, that we saw either.
When our server came over (Dorothy) DH just asked if there was an omelet station, she said no BUT she can put an order & the chefs can whip up an omelet for him.

Not sure if that is the norm, but if you really want an omelet it won't hurt to ask :)

How would you compare the food to other restaurants at WDW? I'm use to restaurants like Bomma's and Kona Cafe for breakfast which had great food and are a good $3 - 5 per person less than Cape May. Will I be disppointed with the quality I'm getting based on the price? Is paying the extra money really worth it?

It is more expensive as your are getting charaters, the other two are not character meals.

I guess what I was trying to say is how does the quality of the food compare to Bomma's or Kona Cafe?

As far as food quality I personally feel Cape May is one of the better character buffets, when it comes to food quality.

I have not eaten at Boma's but I have eaten at Kona's. I feel Kona's is pretty close to the same quality, of course Kona has their signature foods that you will not find at Cape May, but if you are comparing eggs to eggs....I would say they are pretty much close to comparsion!

We love this buffet. We have made it a tradition to have breakfast there the morning we head home as a send-off. It is the icing on the cake to a wonderful week at disney. We have done other breakfasts but Cape May is our favorite!!::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
