Well I got a PS for Cape May Cafe char bfst....What can you all tell me about it? Good food? good interaction? Didn't have a whole lot of choices and times were very limited, but since I just got the cancellation call last night for H&V for 3/24 I didn't have much of a choice. Also how long does it take to get from there to MGM by bus, since that is our park of choice for that day.
Thanks

Our family loves the Cape May Breakfast. The food is always good and the character interaction is the best!! The restaurant is a little smaller than some of the other breakfast locations so the characters get around faster. To get to MGM, you'll take a boat to the gate. The boat is not overly fast and you will make stops at the other Epcot Resorts. There is also a walking path, but I prefer to save my walking for the parks!;)

My family ate at the Cape May character breakfast on our last trip, and we all enjoyed it very much. The variety was good, with the traditional breakfast stuff, a special area for kids, and even Krispy Kreme doughnuts (Yum!). The character interaction was excellent. To me, things didn't seem quite as "chaotic" as some of the other character buffets that I've been to, but that may have been due to the fact that we had a fairly early seating.

you can WALK to MGM from there?????
Yes, indeed. That is one of the advantages of being in the Epcot resort area (Y&BC, BW, Swan/Dolphin)...You can walk to either Epcot or MGM. The walkway to MGM begins over by the Boardwalk at the point where the bridge from the Swan & Dolphin crosses over the water. If you hang a right as you come out of the Beach Club, pass in front of the Yacht Club, and then cross the bridge towards the boardwalk (before getting to the Swan/Dolphin), then the path to MGM will begin at the Boardwalk end of the bridge.

(Note: As an alternate route, you can also turn left out of the BC, and follow the path around the lake to the Boardwalk, and then cut through the Luna Park pool area to get to a point further down the path. I have been told that this is a slightly shorter path, but if you are not familiar with the Boardwalk area, the other route is probably easier to follow.)

Be warned that the walk to MGM is a bit of a hike. Depending on the ages (and fitness) of the folks in your party, the walk will probably take anywhere from about 15 to 30 minutes. (My family, with sons age 6 and 10, and a daughter in a stroller, takes about 20 minutes or so.) If the boat is approaching the dock as you get there, the boat will probably be faster, but if not, you will probably do as well to walk. (Although waiting a little while for the boat may conserve a little energy for when you get to the park.)

Have a great trip! :earsboy:

I don't think you can walk to MGM from there.
Overall, our family gave Cape May a "B"...nothing great, but satisfying. If I'm not mistaken, this is the one where Minnie is in a separate room where you greet her privately as you leave...or enter!
Overall, it's good...you'll enjoy it!

We had a great breakfast there last August. We had a late priority seating but were not rushed at all and the kitchen staff brought out fresh food for us. Our server made sure we saw Minnie as she was getting ready to leave. A good choice in your opinion.

The food was great! There was soooo much to choose from. We did not feel rushed AT ALL!! My son ate so much he threw up 2 times in the bathroom. Lucky for him, he could go back & eat more. Have a great trip!

Yes you can walk to MGM from the Beach Club. It is a nice walk. It certainly isn't as short as the walk to IG at EPCOT but I saw 2 couples beat me to MGM from the BC. They walked and my family took the boat. Depending on the time of year, it is a beautiful walk to MGM.

You most certainly can walk from the BC to MGM. It is quite an easy walk and has never taken me over 15 minutes. With children, perhaps it would be a bit longer. The walk is peaceful and follows the canal.

The Character Breakfast in terms of interaction is very nice. Goofy and his friends really take time with the guests. Minnie is in the Rip Tide Lounge and is available for autographs.

The food is another story. There is quite a variety, but the hot foods are not. I really didn't care for the lukewarm eggs and the cold sausages and bacon.

I guess we just got lucky, or maybe it was yet another advantage of an early seating, but Minnie did make at least one pass through the dining room during our Cape May breakfast:

Unfortunately, my daughter was in one of her shy moods, and seemed to be more interested in the "Mickey waffle" than in the really tall mouse approaching from behind! :earsboy:

We stayed at BC May 2001 on deluxe magic plan and had Cape May breaky 8 out of 10 mornings. Love it there. Depending on the time, characters play (catch with beach ball), sign autographs, pose for numerous pictures, chip even coloured part of his picture for us. They each made numerous passes around the restaurant and we were probably only there for about 1/2-3/4 of an hr each time.

Thanks all!!!! I knew you all would make me feel better about going there!!!!!!!

I hate to be the voice of negativity here but we ate there over Presidents' week and we were disappointed, especially with the character interaction. We were there for approx an hour and 15 minutes and we only saw Goofy and Chip. Dale was out but he did not make it to our table. We saw Minnie as we were being seated but she went back in without visiting us and was not seen again. I am used to Mickey's at the CR where I would have to say each time we eaten there the character interaction has been wonderful. The food was good but to be honest I could get equally good food many other places for less money--what I'm paying for in those circumstances is the opportunity to get some pics with my kids and that just didn't happen. Hopefully you will have better luck!
