I have reservations at the Cape May Cafe for breakfast in February. What characters can I expect to see there? Also, how is the food?
Thanks a lot!

We went there for DS 11th bday breakfast. There was Minnie, Goofy and Donald in their bathing suits. The food was very good, a really nice variety of hot and cold items. plus you can walk or take a boat to either epcot or HS from there. I will be posting pics from it in my Dining report shortly.

I agree with the PP--the food was great and the characters were Minnie, Goofy and Donald. My youngest DS was disappointed there weren't more characters, and my oldest DS was disappointed Pluto wasn't there ;). Another character would have been nice, but the ones who were there were great--good interaction and funny :).

Thank you both for your replies! I think that I will definitely keep our ADR!

We've been here a couple of times in the past--most recent was this past May. We saw Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. Has Donald replaced Chip & Dale?

The food is good, very nice selection of breakfast items. The character interaction was pretty good as well.

The food was good. We went last week and also had Minnie, Goofy and Donald. It was my dd8's birthday and Goofy conducted the Happy Birthday song for her, which she adored.

Yes.. Donald replaced Chip and Dale.. we were there on September 26 of this year.. and Chip was there (no Dale).. I believed they switched to Donald instead shortly after our visit.. it was ALOT of fun and the food was excellent (definitely try the mickey waffles!).. the character interaction was just perfect for us.. I hear they run behind alot on ADRs.. we got there early and got seated early.. which I would recommend doing since its often very popular

Thanks for the advice! We have a 7:40 AM ADR, so hopefully they will not be running behind that early.
Thanks again!

we had an 810 am ADR and got there around 715 (cause we ran into this amazing bus driver who personally chauffered us over to the Beach Club)... they start letting people in around 730 am.. there were a good amount of others waiting to be seated.. but inside it was almost empty.. (we got in right at 730 am).. i don't think you'll have a problem at all!

Have a great time! I can't wait to go back!!

Good to know. We are staying at BWI, so we will walk over and I think now that we will try to be there for about 7:15. Thank you for your help!

We ate there twice on our last trip. DH and I are having breakfast there on our upcoming trip and won't have DD with us. It was really good and I can't wait to go back! We had Minnie, Goofy and Donald and the interaction was great. They came by our table several times. Donald was being very silly and spent a lot of time at our table.

It had the usual buffet fare. The food was hot and fresh and very tasty. The chefs were monitoring the temps of the food with thermometers and always replacing items. I would highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

We went for the first time with my boys in october. I thought the food was very good. They have the usual hot foods selections. I thought they offered the most variety of breads/muffins/pastries/cereals compared to other breakfast buffets. The place is very colorful and festive. They offer several booths as well as tables.

Characters were Minnie, Donald and Goofy in their beach clothes. Here are some pictures.

This is one of the best spots at WDW. The character interaction is superb and the food is really good.

MJAJmom---thank you for the fantastic pictures!

To everyone who posted---thank you for your input! We look forward to eating here.

The food's just okay, the service was the worst I've ever had in Disney. There are much better character breakfasts, actually any other one, IMO, is better.

Which would be better--CM or Cape May for a two year old celebrating a bday? Which has the better interaction? By all accounts, CM seems to be a little chaotic and loud, correct?

My 2 year old is so easily distracted and is very hyper. Would Cape May be the calmer of the two? He is really starting to get into Mickey now and I want to do a Mickey breakfast for his bday.

Any other alternatives to see Mickey at breakfast besides Cape May or CM? Thanks!

CM is much more high energy then CMC. It was a very subdued breakfast, just what our family needs before the craziness of the day. Both are great choices, it just depends what characters you prefer, your moods and where you can get an ADR!!

We had a blast eating there for breakfast!!! DD17 says it's her favorite meal at WDW!! I was a little worried about taking DS18, DD17, DD's BFF, and DH there because I was worried they were too old and too cool to enjoy it!!! WRONG!!!! DS and DH were all into getting their pictures made with Goofy and Goofy kept coming by and trying to take their food!! It was soo much fun, we went back the next morning too!! It is now one of the restaurants we have to do several times on each trip!!!
