Cape May breakfast?

I'm trying to decide when and where to do our ADR's for our trip in June. We want to do a character breakfast somewhere, and I've been narrowing it down but have a question about Cape May. If we were to make a late reservation for breakfast - around 10:30 - could we walk to there from Epcot or would we not be allowed because the World Showcase isn't open yet?

I'm having the hardest time figuring out the logistics of making the ADR's! I don't want to be running from one place to the other, but I'm not having much luck. This is a lot of work!

You can enter from the World Showcase entrance anytime after the opening time of Future World.

So as long as Epcot's open, we can get through the WS to Cape May? Sorry, I haven't been to Epcot in about 10 years, so I am not at all familiar with how it works!

Yes. The WS Entrance is not technically in the WS. Just walk through... :thumbsup2

You can walk past Canada and the UK before 11am to get to the back entrance and from there it is a short walk to the Beach Club. I haven't been to the Cape May breakfast in years, but when I was there it was a very nice buffet and the characters were wonderful.

We always do this breakfast at 7:30 ish, before 8 am. It is a nice relaxing empty restaurant, tons of character time and awesome food. This past Oct we went at 10:15 on our check out of YC day and the place was utter chaos, food was still good but servers were not attentive at all and the we never did get to see Chip and Dale and we were there for almost an hour

April trip we are back to our 8 am time

Definitely a chaotic breakfast, but the characters are a ton of fun. Food is not that great, and the service wasn't very attentive. There are better breakfasts available, but if you are set on this one you will enjoy the beach wear characters and just go in with the right expectations.

Hmm...thanks for the tips. I am not set on this one, and now that you say it was chaotic I am thinking twice. We went to O'hana last time and loved it. Is it at all comparable? Maybe we should just do O'hana again? I was only looking at Cape May because it's close to Epcot and it would be easy. I really want to do O'hana again or Crystal Palace. My boyfriend's parents are coming and they would not be happy with a chaotic atmosphere and mediocre food!

We stayed at BC for a week during the summer and had our breakfasts at CMC a couple times but always went through the lobby even on days when we weren't eating there. It was never busy in there and the wait for your ADR is not long at all. It was, however, the very best meal and the best character meal we had. DD16 loved it so much that we made additional ADRs to eat on the next day and got exactly the time we requested. With there not being many people dining there, the character interaction is awesome and the service was great. We will definitely be going there again!!!

The walk to Epcot may be 5 minutes. As long as Future World at Epcot is open, you can get through the International Gateway. There's usually not many people back there so it is quick to get in.

Enjoy!!!

I go to Cape May every trip (6-8+) a year and we usually go at 10-10:30am its busy yes but usually not a problem at all depends on the events occurring on property i think because I've been there a few times at that time and it was half empty.

The character interaction is awesome, you don't feel rushed and they have alot of cast members with over 20 years in the company. Dorothy C is a absolute AWESOME server I request her everytime she is worth the wait.

Have a greta time where ever you choose.

Hey glad to see this question being discussed by the DIS experts!:disrocks:

We have ADR's at Cape May Cafe for the breakfast at 7:30am. Our plan for the rest of the day is Epcot,Epcot & more Epcot!
We are staying off site, so we may just leave the car at Beach Club and walk to Future World at opening or drive to the Epcot lot.

My girls said "NO" to a princess breakfast this time around, so I thought the Mickey, Chip & Dale crew would be fun!

See you there... :jumping1:

You cannot leave the car at the BC...you will have to drive to the front.

CMC is lots of fun for breakfast because all the characters are in swim/summer outfits. As for walking through the world showcase that shouldn't be a problem. I worked in Canada and people used to come by all the time before we were open. If there is a cast member just let them know where you are going and it won't be a problem.
