Trying to finalize a couple of reservations for our upcoming trip (just over to 2 weeks away ;)). So I have reservations for dinner at Cape May, however, hubby and kids not seafood people. I did see they had other meats and things but thinking I really should re-think this reservation. I did a search for similar question but most recent was from 2010 and thinking the menu might have changed a bit... so what is your recent experience?

I am a seafood fan, but I hate walking past Cape May in the evening because of the foul odor coming from the place. Very strong fishy smell, but not really fishy, it must be the shellfish. If you are the only one who likes seafood, I'd go somewhere else. That can be an expensive meal that no one eats.

I'd switch it. There aer other foods there that aren't seafood, but the majority of it is. Our meal was very good but we all liked seafood. It did have a distinctive "fish" smell to the place to. If the majority of your party won't eat seafood then it will be a very expensive meal for a limited selection. With so many other great options in Disney I'd look for something that everyone would enjoy.

We go to Cape May usually twice a trip, love their crab legs, clam chowder, and yummy desserts. But, they have just as much, maybe more non-seafood items - ribs, carved beef, chicken, pasta dishes and sides, just to name a few. So, your non-seafood eaters will be able to "waddle" out with the best of them. :rotfl2: It's all very, very good!! Sorry, PP, but we were just there and the majority of it is non-seafood, soup and salads also!! A fish smell? I can't stand that, and never noticed it there.

OP, we've sure never noticed these smells people are talking about here. I say go and see for yourself how great a place for food and ambience it is :thumbsup2

I do not like seafood, I love cape mays..there is lots for those who don't like seafood...I rolled out of there I was stuffed::goodvibes

Haven't eaten at Cape May but the first thing I thought when i saw the question was that it smells very fishy. We went by it a couple times to go to Beaches & Cream and the smell is very noticable just walking by the restaurant. In fact whenever I mentioned Cape May to my kids - they said, "is that the fishy-smelling place?"

To address the fishey smell............We tried to grab a drink at Martha Vineyard lounge next to the CMC. Last Oct. and Nov. it smelled so bad we left before we ordered both times and walked a little way down to Crews Cup. You know what......go and see or smell for yourself. I actually liked the place a few years ago being a non seafood person but in Oct and Nov this year I couldn't even grab a drink next door because of the smell. :scared1:
