Great shots! We love airshows in our family! My dh was a Navy pilot for 15 years and we lived in Virginia Beach ( Oceania Naval Air Station) for most of his active flying. I love the sound of the jets - could you please post an audio clip next time!! I could use a charge from that jet roar these days!!! Something about it just gets your blood pumping faster!!

I wish I had some sound clips. That would be great. I shot a little bit of video with the S2 IS, but it is really bad as keeping a focus on the planes as they zip by is next to impossible. I won't forget the sounds that those jets make anytime soon though, that's for sure! I will miss them when they are gone from our base on Cape Cod. Unfortunately, this was one of the bases that suffered drastic cuts by the feds and will have most if not all of it's Air Force population cut, including the F-15's. I have a feeling they will keep at least one or maybe two of them here, but who knows?

Awesome pictures. We used to live out by MacDill AFB in Tampa, I miss going to the airshows... Just had to comment on this photo. I have been fascinated with Fighter Jets since I can remember, but was always put off in pursuing anything because "girls don't fly"... Nicole is my hero, I am so proud to see her out there... Great Pic!

I guess the "girls don't fly" thing is just an overall misconception. I was a bit surprised to see a woman's name on the plane, then I thought "why not?" It only takes one to change that thinking and she did it for me. As for fighter jets, you can have them! I can't imagine going that fast in anything. I would be a mess after one of those rides. It would make the Tower of Terror seem like a boring waste of time.

my dh few jets in the Navy and has called them the best E-ticket ride ever made! He flys commercial now, and says it's like getting on IASW after doing RNR!! Personally, I'm not a big flying fan, the turbulance kills me!! I'm okay going fast in one direction, but please don't bounce me all over the place, it's bad for my complexion!!!(i.e. I turn green!!!)
