I was wondering if anyone has a review of Cantina de san angel since they have changed the menu? I've heard that they've recently changed the menu and there is no longer a combination platter.:confused3
I was wondering if the new menu has anything good on it! We were planning on eating there in December, but now I don't know if we will...

The new menu doesn't look to have anything I want on it. Im hoping the Pirate and Parrot will be open when we do MK so I can get my Mexican fix.

We just ate there last week, and I was not impressed. Wont eat there again.
The food taste and consistancy was like it was thawed from a boxed frozen dinner.

This place gets some of the most consistently poor reviews of any place on property. Too bad, as the atmosphere is wonderful, and I wouldn't think that this type of cuisine is that difficult to prepare. :confused3

thanks for the replies! I wish they wouldn't have changed the menu - we liked it when we ate there in 2007. We like like the atmosphere - tables by the water are really nice.
thanks again!

We ate there a couple of weeks ago, and we threw our food away.

This used to be my favorite CS spot in Epcot.

I could not believe it!

It looks like others have experienced the same thing.

I just ate there 2 weeks ago as well, I guess everyone has a difference in opinion. It may depend on what you order. I really enjoyed the meal I ordered. I had Chilaquiles Con Pollo, I would eat it again right now if I could LOL. It was a tortillia with chicken and cheese with a red sauce on it side of black beans and red rice. I am sad that the menu has changed, But for me everything tastes better in Disney so I will adapt. :)

Wow, I am still stunned to read this....

We at at the Cantina a few weeks ago and it was far and away better than it was previously. The items were actually assembled at the time they were ordered (huge step up from the prefilled styrofoam boxes of the past) and the food we got was very tasty - I'm really not sure what every one is so disappointed in :confused3

DH and I ate there and were not impressed. Even the chips and salsa seemed to come from a bag instead of warm and freshly made. We won't go back.

Freshly made chips seem a bit ambitious for theme park quick service dontcha think? :)

Not at the prices they charge and itn't this TS...we made reservations.

Actually the Cantina that they are talking about is counter service. The San Angel Inn is the TS with the atmosphere.

I am excited for the chilaquiles actually, I love those!!!

I had the Chilaquiles Con Pollo, and it was disgusting.

It was like a mushy, chicken, tortilla, lassanga covered in a red sauce that was frozen and microwaved.

We were there Sept.18. It was ok, not great. We had the chicken thing with cheese & on a sort of mushy tamale bottom. It was expensive, but we were on the DDP. Way too much food for lunch, not great. It's too bad as it is a nice location for CS.:sad1:

This used to be my family's favorite CS. Loved the Mexican food, we would get the combo plates and share. We loved sitting by the water too. It's so pretty there. The new menu is really awful in our opinion. If you don't get the chicken thing, which was pretty bad, you're basically stuck with nachos. We were very disappointed at the change and probably won't go back. We're on the look-out for a new favorite CS at Epcot. :sad2:

I was looking forward to the combo plate and was disappointed with the choices. All three of us did not finish our food - barely ate half. I used to order the kids beef burrito - that was may favorite. You would think that Mexican food would be a slam dunk at WDW?
