Can't we all just get along?

Most of us come here because we have a common affliction. We are addicted to the Mouse and his keepers.

It seems that as of late a few members post solely with the intent to agitate others or to provide information that is contrary to Disney stated policy.

It would be nicer if people would offer fact based answers and leave it at that. Instructing and/or suggesting that a Disneyholic circumvent stated policies is disappointing.

No...but that's the way the world is in general and in that way the DIS mirrors real life. Everyone doesn't get along and not everyone can agree on everything.

If you introduce or participate in a thread about Iraq, things are going to get heated - that's just the way it is.

What I get irritated with is when someone posts something inocuous about their life - a kid's birthday party....a situation at work, something like that, and people jump all over them. Telling someone an idiot when they are trying to work something out in their life is <i>not helpful</i>.

I'm not certain I'm following the problem. It doesn't read like this is political disagreement at all but about giving opinions about circumventing Disney?? Like? Child tickets for 10 yr olds? Recycling mugs? I must have missed the nasty posts to which the OP refers.

Sometimes I am shocked at the way people express themselves on message boards. I do hope that at least in person people aren't so directly disrespectful to one another.

I, like disney4us2002, don't totally understand. Is this about Disney in general, or about all posts here? I think the posts about politics and the war are going to get heated. I think some like to stir the pot and those will get heated as well... but posts about Disney getting nasty... did I miss something? I know the usual posts about things that aren't right to do at Disney do get heated, but I think that's to be expected... sometimes people are just looking for someone to say what they are doing (even if it's wrong) is okay. Is that what you are talking about?

Oh well, either way, I love it here, so I'll take the good with the bad. I too wish some things were said with a bit more respect, but sometimes it's hard to judge when we are on a message board, and not in person.

Apparantly someone who posts here occasionally doesn't like the fact that I'm vocally "anti-war". No one on this thread now. She has basically exposed herself for the true idiot that she is by trying to antagonize others into fighting with her.

I think , and I'm just guessing, that the OP is not talking about political or debate threads, but instead therads on planning or otherwise fluff threads, where people jump all over people with no provocation.

IE. (and I'm just making this up) :

Poster one : I am going to stay at AKL, but I'm going to use the pools at GF and CSR and let them TRY to stop me

Poster two : That's actually against Disney policy

Poster one : So what? Who died and made you king?

Poster three : I think poster one is the devil

Poster four : I think poster two is a condescending snot

OR

Poster one : I need ideas for my daughters christmas gift...she really is a fan of singer one

Poster two : Only trashy people listen to singer one. She should really listen to singer two because that's who I listen to


Etc., Etc. Etc.

I think everyone realizes that election year type issues, or hot debate topics can and do get out of hand. I think it's the NON debate issues that turn nasty that this OP is referring to.

But I could be wrong.
