Can't wait for the new Soarin equipment upgrade

As the tread title suggests, I'm really looking forward to the equipment upgrades coming to the Soarin attraction at WDW. I recently had a chance to ride Soarin at California Adventure which has already switched over to the new projectors and screens. There is a significant improvement in the quality of the show.

What are the changes?

They have installed new screens with smaller perforations and a more reflective surface. They have also changed from Imax film to Imax digital projectors.

Will all the WDW screens be changed and when. We go in January.

Yes, they will all be changed but probably not before you get there in January.

Right now they are building a third theater at WDW that will have the new equipment. Once that is ready they will connect up the interior walkways and start using that theater plus one of the existing ones while the other existing theater will get retrofitted. Once that's done the other existing theater will get retrofitted. So at all times they will have two theaters in operation, but it will be a while before all three are open together.

I'm excited for this. Soarin' is one of my favorite attractions. I heard the new WDW version will include a brand new video as well.
