We have an upcoming WDW in February and booked our rooms by renting DVC points. The DVC owner from whom we rented let me know that Magical Express is not available for Sunwing.

Is this true? Or is there a way around it? (I'm thinking of calling ME closer to the date and asking to add the service.)

All I want is the lift to the resort! And I'd like to avoid booking a town car for the MCO transfer. Please help!

I'm not sure about sunwing's policies.

But, I'm fairly certain that if they can't transfer your bags to ME, you can just simply take your bags to the ME counter and they will take care of them from there.

I have booked clients on sunwing and added DME thru Disney so not sure where that has come from??? Disney made the reservation without any indication it couldn't be done.

My daughter used Sunwing this summer and had no problems using ME service to/from Pop Century. Put the tags on in Toronto and didn't see them until they were in their room.

Some airlines can be checked in at Disney hotels where boarding pass and luggage are dealt with. Sunwing has to be checked in at the airport. You take your luggage to ME area, they put the luggage on the bus and once at the airport take your luggage to Sunwing counter for check in.

Some Sunwing flights terminate in the airport in nearby Sanford, FL as opposed to MCO.

As long as your Sunwing flight is to Orlando's MCO airport. You should have no problem using DME. As noted, you'll have to check-in your bags yourself when returning at the airport and NOT at the resort.

Hope this helps,

Knox

Thank you for all your super quick replies!! :goodvibes

Do you think I can just call DME directly and add it to our reservation? (My main concern is that it's a DVC rental ressie made on our behalf by the DVC owner.) Not ever having done it, I'm not sure how that works! :confused3

To be honest, I'm not even that concerned about getting the bags to our room. I just want for us to have transportation to the resort. It's a relief to know that we'll be able to use DME! :cool1:

Normally the person who makes the room reservation, including a travel agent, also has to make the Magical Express reservation. But others have reported that when the trip time draws near, the reservation can be made directly with Magical Express by the guest. If you don't get the reservations made sooner, try at the 10, 7, 5, 2, and 1 day in advance marks.

Get the name and city of every person you talk to on the phone (applies to anything you buy or order and any business you transact over the phone).

My daughter had 2 reservations numbers (package and room only) for her trip. Magic Express ticket had only her flight down information. I called and added her return information. They needed her reservation numbers, names, and dates.

I would call 1-866-599-0951 or 407-939-7675 Magic Express for the correct information they were very helpful.

You can also carry your bags to the bus, they put them under the bus and once at the resort, you take them with you.

EVERY traveller (regardless of airline of travel) that flies into Orlando International Airport is eligble for DME (including both automatic luggage delivery to your Disney resort room, and bus transportation).

EVERY traveller (regardless of airline of travel) that flies out of Orlando International Airport is eligble for DME bus transportation to the airport.

Travellers (domestic USA travel only) on specifc airlines are also eligible for resort check in, at the end of their stay (in which luggage may be checked, and retrieved at your home airport).

We rented points for an upcoming trip before we purchased DVC. The member you are renting off of has to make your ME booking for you because they own the booking. Same with the dining plan hth
