i find that sometimes you can get ripped off if a business does not know what they are in for and try to adapt the terms, or have misleading terms.
this happened with a recent amazon deal. i eat specifically at a certain restaurant because im GF. we bought a brunch deal and it sounded great, the one time we were there for brunch it was dead, so i thought they must need to get people in, so are offering a discount. when we got there we found the "starter" was a croissant, and the main meal we had a choice of four really cheap options. when i asked to have it GF i was told there was a $10 upcharge, we ended up eating a la carte and it was cheaper than using the "deal". luckily amazon refunded me.
i have had good luck with the starbucks deals, museum ones, and once i got a concert ticket for $6 since i had a $10 credit that week.
