Can't schedule FP until we arrive, what's the best strategy?

There is some problem with linking our tickets to our account; I've had a very kind CM trying to figure it out, and after about a week of her researching and talking with managers, they've thrown their hands up and just advised me to get new tickets when we arrive. Because we won't be able to pre-book the FPs, they've given each of us 3 anytime/anywhere FPs for each day of the trip. This alone is good news that I don't have to set alarm clocks to book for all 5 of us, but it would be even better if, once we got the new tickets, we were able to book the other 3.

We will be there the last of May/first of June, so I imagine it will be fairly busy. So, once we arrive, Should we just try to book the less popular attractions, or should we still rope-drop those and try to get some more of the tier 1 type rides? Or, should I give up all planning and just see what's available when we get there? If there is any hope of anything good being available, I would like to kind of have a strategy in mind so I don't delay the fun once we get there by having to search around and strategize.

Also, on our last trip FP/magic bands were still being tested, and we received them in the mail without doing anything. Do you have to buy them now or do they still send you the basic ones? Since I can't link our tickets, will we not trigger the system to send us any? If that's the case, do we get them when we check into the hotel?

Your magic bands should be linked to your resort reservation. If you go to MDE and look at the magic bands section, you should be able to customize them there. As far as FP+ I often reschedule them throughout the day, my family isn't huge planners. Since you already have three for each day to use on whatever you want you should be able to find at least some day of. Enjoy! Hope the rest of your trip goes more smoothly.

The magic bands are tied to your hotel reservations, so if that is fine in the system they should come in the mail. Is the link to customize them there in MDE?

For the FPs I suppose there's be a few strategies, but if it were me I would still try to rope drop top rides, schedule the regular FPs for afternoon for whatever was available that was of interest, and use the anytime for any top rides we couldn't do at RD or wanted to do again. It might make it harder to schedule your days but does give more flexibility, especially if you plan to park hop.

I am having a simular problem with tickets. They are old and I can't get them linked in MDE. I have been on the phone a couple of times and no one seems to want to take up the cause or offer anything other then it "it sucks to be you". So I have tickets but can't get fastpasses. We were hoping to go Mid march so also pretty busy. 3 fastpasses for our whole trip would get me there!! As it stands now, we will change the ticket to new stock, but will spend our time in busy parks where there are ways to use the system to manage them. Consider yourself lucky they offered you anything!!

Sorry you're having bad luck. Maybe try again and hopefully you'll get someone different? I emailed my request, maybe that would help? They called a couple of times to discuss further and were very nice and apologetic.

I am having a similar situation. Bought Dh and Ds tickets on base... been trying for 2 days to link them to my account so I can make us fastpasses with no luck, just keeps turning and turning like its loading, but never does *sigh ... a cm told me to call, going to this afternoon, but sounds like I won't have much help...
