Can't make up my mind about dates

Hi everyone, I'm driving myself a bit crazy. I really should book this trip so that I can get my PTO days in, but I keep waffling back and forth on pretty infinitesimal details and I just kinda need someone to tell me that it's not going to make much difference, and I need to get a move on.

Long story summed up in bullet points:
  • I am going to WDW in April 2018. I'd rather do early than late.
  • Obviously I won't pick the immediate week after Easter, that would be insane
  • But I can't decide between the week after (April 9-15) or the 3rd week (April 16-22)
  • April 9-15, I'm not sure if Spring Breakers will be gone (but ************** recently mentioned it could be a stellar week)
  • April 16-22, the last half is the Star Wars Dark Side 5k/10k/half marathon. So I'm not sure how crazy THAT would be.

Honestly, I am making a mountain out of a molehill but I just can't pull the trigger on picking for some odd reason. If anyone has any insight, such as how the parks 'felt' during the Dark Side half this past year, I'd appreciate it. Or tough love.

Yep, mountain out of a molehill. I haven't gone in April, but have done a bunch of other big holiday times...4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc... It's really not a big deal. It's Disney. It's always crowded. If there are a few more or less people on one week vs the other, my feeling is :confused3. Go with the dates that are best for you and your PTO days. That's part of why we tend to go around the 4th of July. I can bookend weekends, plus the 4th of July itself to make an extra long trip and use a minimal amount of PTO. Well worth it. It's crowded on the 4th of July, but we still never waited more than 30 minutes for anything...ever.

We went the week leading up to Easter and it was easy peasy...I wouldn't sweat it. between the two, I would choose the 16-22.

Frankly I would choose the busiest time possible as then you have the best chance at later hours at the parks which is when you can ride the most rides with little wait. You still get the same 3 fast passes if its busy or not busy and the other rides while the wait may be a little longer would be worth it to me for an extra hour at night when the lines are almost non existent.

There was a poll recently regarding spring break dates around the country. According to those results, fewer people had it the week around 4/9 than your other option. Just run with that.

Our school district in CT has Spring Break the week of the 16-22, and so do a lot of the other districts in this area. I think most of the ones that don't have the 16-22, have it the 9-15th.

Just wanted to thank everyone. I'm just going to go ahead with the 2nd week of April...I'll get to WDW a week sooner, so I can't complain much. I appreciate it!!
