Can't get resort rates for Jan 08?

Okay, I know I am new to this site and booking on my own...(this will be our 5th trip to Disney).....why can't I get rates for anything (any resort) past Jan 1,2008? We want to stay at CS again and trying to find the cheapest time to go and tag a 4 day Cruise with it.. any suggestions? thoughts?

They are later than usual in realeasing the next year's rates this year. Usually they are out by now, but there are changes coming with how rates are determined, which explains the delay. The rumor is that Disney will begin determing your rate on a night by night basis, meaning that if the rate of your room goes up during your stay, you will pay that higher rate for those nights. It has been up to this point, that the rate for whatever season it was when you checked in, was the rate that you would pay for your entire stay. Apparently that is going away in 2008.

The second rumored change is that there will be weekday rates and higher weekend (Fri. & Sat. nights) rates.

So figuring out the cost of a WDW resort is about to get more complicated.

The rumors are that 2008 rates should be coming out within a month, but who knows?

We were driving home from our 12th trip to WDW and were planning our 13th trip (2008). The drive is 14 hours so we had a lot of time to talk. Yep, I know we are a pitiful lot but we just can't help it.

Initially, there was a rumor that the rates would be out June 23rd. I waited up until Midnight on the 22nd so I could look online. No such luck!

I've been calling almost daily (sometimes more than once a day) to find out when the 2008 rates would be posted. The CMs started out telling me it would be mid-August which lines up with the last two years. A couple of other times, I was told it could be as soon as the first week of July.

One CM told me that I would know just as soon as he would know. He said the computer systems are updated every night at Midnight. So, when he comes to work and turns on his computer, they show him the same thing I would be looking at on my computer. I don't know if that's true but I've been checking the www.disneyworld.com website every morning when I get up.

I just hung up the phone with 407-W-DISNEY who said it would probably be the end of August.

If the rates don't come out soon, I'm probably going to book a room only reservation so that at least I know I can get the resort I want.

DISNEY........HURRY UP AND POST YOUR RATES!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I was playing on the disney website on Sunday 1st July at 7pm (Syd,Aust time-about 4am your time) and the website was very different, I went onto the wonderful weeks of disney link and clicked on winter, again the page layout was different, there was a pop up with a pumpkin offering to work out the best deal, however it wouldn't give me the rates.
However it seems that it was completed they just have to add the rates
At the end there was a survey asking me if I liked the new website layout!
anyway when I got up in the morning it was back to the old website,

Hopefully this means they must be getting close to finalising everything and the Jan rates will be out soon

I am also waiting impatiently for 2008 rates. DH gave me the go ahead to look at rates for spring break next March. I would sure like to book before he changes his mind......

For our January stay at POR, I knew rates wouldn't be out until August, but I wanted to make sure we at least had a room, b/c I wanted to get a room before we bought our non-refundable plane tickets.

So, I booked a room-only ressie and if need be, I'll just change to a MYW package when the new rates come out.
