We are going nov. 11-18th. I wanted to extend the departure day to the 19th. The CM said there was no availablilty for my reservation at the fort cabins. However I can bring up fort wilderness cabins and book the 11-19th online. Is it because of my discount?? They are giving me 15% off. As it looks like the 19th and 20th are not included in the discount. And it was about $788 more, just to add one day and tickets. Which is crazy. Any thoughts? Oh its a saturday too.

I would call back. This happened to me once. They can add the day but that day may not be discounted. That happened to me once during Easter break. One day during our stay couldn't be discounted. Call back and try to get a CM that can handle it.

I just pulled it up online and, yes, the discount is not available for Nov. 11 - 19. The standard rate for the night of Nov. 18 is $377, room-only. How many people are in your party? Are you on a dining plan? I'm just trying to figure out where that $788 quote is coming from (I'm guessing the CM quoted you the non-discounted rate for the entire stay) . If you really want to stay that extra night and you want an extra day of tickets, I would probably just keep the Nov. 11 - 18 discounted reservation that you have, add a day of tickets to that and then make a separate, one night, room-only reservation at standard rate for Nov. 18-19. When checking in, I would just tell the front desk CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same cabin.

Reasons for non-extension:
. . . the cabin could be reserved for someone else's vacation.
. . . your discount is not valid for the extra day(s)

This is what we had to do last year. Just find a CM that knows what he/she is doing. When i called to do this the first CM told me it was not possible. I called back later and it took another CM less than 5 minutes to get it done.

I will call them back for sure. Is there any real chance of having to change rooms at the end of our vacation? That would be a pain.

Yes, you may have to change rooms. You will know when you check in. I couldn't give you odds but I would bet against it. We did not have to change rooms.

I think your less likely to have to move at the end then you are at the beginning.

If you have added a single night reservation, you need to check with the front desk when you check in to see if you are booked into the same room as the first part of your stay. If you aren't, they can sometimes move things around to fix it for you. Otherwise, you'll have to move for the last night. You might also see if they can add a notation about a continuing reservation from the first reservation to the second with the number of the first noted on the second.

If by chance I don't get lucky and they make us move room, could I just cancel the extra day at check in? We have enough tickets to cover the day, because we decided to do just the MVMCP day of our ticket days.

At checkin for the last day? Sure, but you would still have to pay for it. Room only reservations need to be cancelled 5 days before checkin.

Ok when I call, I'll check, but 5 days before would be ok. If I check in on the 11th and they say the 18-19th would be a different room. I should be able to cancel right there, just have to be careful what I book that day in regards to park reservations. Would be a bad way to start the vacation. But all I can do is try.
