Can't get an ADR for this weekend or Tuesday pm

Anyone have luck with just walking up to get an ADR? Since we're arriving a day early (to surprise the kids) and it's so close to our trip, I can't find anywhere to eat for the 1st morning/lunch on Saturday (TS on the monorail or MK). We are staing at the CR. Do you think if DH goes down to Chef Mickey's and puts our name on the list we'd have a chance at a table?

A few years ago when my family and I were staying at the Contemporary we tried to get a last minute ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey's, however we were told none were available. The Cast Member who told us none were available suggested going as a walk-in, so we gave our name and only waited about 30 - 40 minutes for a table. Obviously the DDP has become a lot more popular since then, although if you don't try it you never know what could happen.

I've never done a walk-up, but I would think you would have the best luck trying for a table at one of the resort restaurants. Have your husband get to Chef Mickey's maybe 10 minutes before they open for lunch - you never know, people make ADRs all the time and never show up. Wish I could be of more help.

Denise - I was a lurker on your other thread. I'm assuming since this trip is a go, that your son is doing well. I hope you all have a wonderful vacation - you all deserve it!
