Can't get a room Oct 23rd

The wife and I are coming for a long weekend trip Oct 24-27. Was thinking of coming earlier on the 23rd, but most hotels (including Swan and Dolphin) are showing sold out, or are massively increased in price. Anyone know what's happening on a Wednesday that I can't get a room?

Convention season for the Swan and Dolphin. May be the week of the HUGE Gartner convention.

If you’re not flying and have flexibility to wait, keep checking back at Swan/Dolphin. I’ve seen it go both ways at Gartner - some times prices stay ridiculously high throughout and other times, they’ll drop a few days/week before.

Saw a comment about Epcot closing at 5 PM on Oct 22, people commented they had bought it out.

Yes it is the Gartner IT Conference. Hosted October 21-24 at the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. Add the YC/BC, BWI, and GF. They also have rooms blocked at CSR and CBR.

The room blocks are being held until September 20th you might find something after that.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was weird that just one day later in the middle of the week, a lot of the WDW resorts opened up. Must be a big conference...

Maybe you hit a glitch on the website. I just checked, there are 15 resorts showing for the night of the 23rd with the fall discount. There’s probably even more at rack rate.

Also possible your search reverted to a discount that’s not valid for that date. The website does that a lot.

Probably about 8000 attendees. So pretty big.
