Can't decide which park to skip

Although AK is my favorite park, I don't have young children (any more). I would advise like others who say to skip AK.

I don't know if you are going to be able to make a decision based on everyone's myriad of opinions here. My two cents- I would skip MGM-in my opinion the most lacklaster of the parks. I'll give an opposing opinion on AK too- this was DH and my favorite- a more subtle and fun place to savor. That said, I would skip Rafiki's Planet Watch- that is a joke, a few big bugs in a glass fish tank and some goats do not an attraction make!

Good luck with your decision!

w/e ya do don't skip MK especially with kids that age i am a kid and i love MK the best

I was going to start a new thread about this very thing :)

Here is my scenario:
My son's youth group is attending Faith in 3D, Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. We have a limited amount of time in the parks, only time to see one nighttime show....many of the people in the group have never been to WDW. I want to make the most of the time we have to spend in the parks, taking into consideration the MLK holiday weekend crowds.

Friday--we are staying at Coronado Springs and will have about 3-4 hours for a park. I'm planning Animal Kingdom. There are some theater buffs in the group, and FotLK is a must-see for them. A lot of the kids want to do the Safari.

Saturday--morning is taken up with a Youth Education Series class (ends around 1pm). Our group is signed up for classes at Epcot and the Studios. I'm thinking that the group at Epcot will meet up with the group at the Studios and tour there on Saturday afternoon. We have to be back at the resort for conference activities by 7pm.

Sunday--after morning worship, the group is heading to Epcot to participate in something called "Faith Around the World", where they will spend 3 hours touring the countries, having lunch, scavenger hunts, etc. Sounds very fun. I hoping to have some of the adults pick up fast passes for Soarin' at that time. The programming wraps up at 2pm, and we're on our own for the rest of the evening. My gut is telling me to leave Epcot on Sunday afternoon and head to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the evening and stay for wishes. I think it's the only chance we'll get to the Magic Kingdom.

I know it isn't nearly enough time to see much of anything, but it's the only way I can think of to give everyone a "taste". Any suggestions at all would be most appreciated!!! I've planned many trips for my family, but not 14 teenagers and some parents :earseek:

it gets dark early in March, so I would skip AK.(It's kind of boring, anyway)

Well this is a toughie. Normally I would say skip AK. But with the ages of your kids into consideration, they might really enjoy it. EPCOT might be worth skipping...

Here's an idea-- why don't you get park hoppers, and try to squeeze 2 parks in one day? AK is only open until 5 anyway. Maybe you can do AK in the am, and skip over to EPCOT at night and catch illuminations. Just a thought.

I only go on a few things at AK, but I can never skip a park completely if I'm there!!!! Oh and have fun-- I went the first week in March this year. Crowds were low and weather was nice. I hope it's the same for you!

Wow....this is a really difficult question.
But yes, did you get the park hoppers?

But if you don't.....hm...wow, this is hard!

I would probably say to skip Epcot. That's just me though, but yes if you get the park hoppers you could do MK one full day, and then mix it around with the other 3.

:flower: Cinderella :flower:

While all of the parks offer something for everyone we found that AK did not offer a lot for our 2 young grandsons ages 1 and 3. We did the Safari which was very nice. Camp Minnie-Mickey was very nice too. A Bugs Life was a little scarey for them. The kids slept through the Lion King Show but we absolutely loved it! IMHO I found AK to be missing the "magic" of Disney. While it's wonderful to visit this is one place that I'd skip if I had to choose to skip one. :confused3

Considering the ages of your children, I would skip MGM. Roller coaster, tower, movie ride, and stunts may be a little intense for your children.
If your children were teenagers, I would skip AK.
