We have 3 full days at Disneyworld. We have been to all the parks before, so now I need to decide which one to skip. There is myself and my husband and our 3 boys, 2,5,and 8.

We are going at the end of March 2006. We want to for sure go to the Magic Kingdom one day. Which park has any new stuff that we didn't get to see last year?

Thanks in advance....

Personally, I'd defnitely add Epcot to the list -- Soarin is new and I've heard that it is AMAZING. If your family likes thrill rides, you might want to see if Expedition Everest is running by March (supposed to open in spring '06) at AK.

I think AK is quite dull myself. So would skip that one. Some other people's view in link below.

I love MGM and MK is what Disney is all about EPCOT can be a little boring in places but there's a lot to do there.

Well if you haven't been since 5/5/05- Epcot, MK, and MGM all have new attractions. AK's coaster will be open sometime between spring and summer but no official date yet.

Since you have been before, which was your least favorite park? I like all the parks. BUT-- I LOVE MGM and MK. So, when we are only doing 3 park days we alternate Epcot and AK for the park to be skipped. We will be skipping Epcot this coming January.

With the ages of your children, based on when we have traveled with kids that age, I would skip Epcot. Now as an adult I love Epcot but any children we have traveled with have been quite bored there.

What time are you arriving at Orlando? To add one more day onto your MYW tickets is pretty cheap. If you can get to a park even just 2-3 hours before closing it will be worth it to go to a park on arrival day.

But, to answer your question, I would say to skip AK. Not that it's not a good park, but it closes alot earlier than the others.

On our last trip, we went to Epcot on our arrival night. We had only about 70 minutes before the park closed and we had fun. I can never wait to get into the parks.

Without skipping Epcot completely, I do think it is worthwhile to go to Soarin'. Go before noon on one of your days and get a fastpass. That is the only new thing, but it is beautiful. I am not sure about a 2 yr. old though...check the height requirements. It isn't that it is scary, but you do get the sensation that you are in a glider flying over California.

Turtle Talk with Crush is a must-see for the whole family. Besides, Living Seas is being totally re-furbished and will re-open in November.

Then take off to another park for the rest of the day. World Showcase needs to be spruced up. It has not changed for many years so I would skip it completely. :confused3

I'd skip AK. I'd do Magic Kingdom 1 whole day, Epcot another, and split the 3rd between MK and MGM.

OH MY! Expedition Everest might be open by then. I wouldn't miss that. Plus the kids love Animal Kingdom. Sure, it is a lot of walking though and perhaps the age of the kids is a factor...But walking around the tree of life and the forests of Africa and Asia are a heck of a lot more exciting than World Showcase!! Love the parade at AK too!

This is great to read. We were thinking with small children to skip Epcot and focus more on MK and AK, but now I know we cannot miss MGM! Thanks!

Are you getting ParkHoppers? If so, I would do 1 full day at MK, and spread the other three parks between the other two days. I agree that Epcot's Soarin' is a must do and that you could probably skip WS (except to eat--yummy restaurants there!) We did AK in about 5 hours total, and we hit everything. I think the Studios are most sorely in need of updating, and could do everything there in about a half a day, too.
Good luck in planning--you'll have a great time no matter what! :flower:
PS--I'm in Aurora, too! :)

I love all the parks also so it would be very difficult to make this decision. I would have to converse with the 2DDs (5 & 8) they would say skip Epcot if it were up to them. They think the countries are boring except for making the masks. They have so much more fun at MK, MGM and AK. Actually MK and AK are their favorites. They love when I find things out of the odrinary to do at AK they got to play drums the one year.

So maybe take the advice of the little ones it makes it easier fo ryou when you get there because they had a say in planning the trip. It makes them feel important!!! Good luck

We've already decided to skip AK next trip. Our DD9 never has liked the show in Tree of Life, and she became the most crankiest at that park on this trip. The only thing she likes about AK is getting her face painted. She does however love Epcot, especially Journey into Imagination with Figment (wanted to return here several times). Her other fav's for Epcott this trip: Soarin (awesome ride, rode 3 times), she got to be a chef in the Land, making choc chip cookies, Mission:Space and doing the kidcot stations. Yep, next trip, we're mainly concentrating on Epcot and MK. :flower:

I couldnt skip any of them if I tried! we always make sure we do all of them-usually a few times each!

I agree with the posts above. As an adult, I do find AK the most boring (you can see those animals many places!) but if I were to ask myself as a child, it would be Epcot. Now, I love both AK and Epcot but that's definitely what I would be looking at crossing off the list if you had to. Even with the new Soarin' ride... I even have a few friends now that find Epcot too "educational"...

We usually skip Epcot. We have only been to Epcot once and thought we needn't see it again. Without young kids I would definitely go, if only for the food! We found MGM extremely boring this year. DS4 loved THe Great Movie Ride and Backlot Tour, and DD13 & I loved RnR, but that was about it! Next trip I think we will do MGM only for those few attractions and then maybe either head over to Epcot for the remainder of the day or back to the resort to swim and relax.

We're skipping AK and only doing a half a day at MGM...Our kids would live in MK, my DH and I demand at least dinner and a stroll several times in Epcot. Thank the heavens for park hoppers!

I would skip AK - my kids (4 and 2 at the time) were bored or scared there. They LOVED Epcot!

QUESTION - Is the Crush exhibit open this month? I had heard that it was closed recently for renovation to The Living Seas - is this true? :earsgirl:

If you only have 3 to choose from, I would definately leave out AK...as much as I enjoy the safari and dinosaur, that's about all there is. I don't think I could spend an entire day at Ak...especially since MK, MGM, and EPCOT have much more to do and see.

DH and I are going back to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and the mai reason we are going to go back is for Expedition Everest!

AK closes so early and isn't a full day so we normally skip that on short trips. If you can't park hop AK often isn't worth it.

Don't skip Epcot, not with those ages. MK and Epcot would be the 2 big must does I think.

For us MGM is a half day or skip since it doesn't have as much for young kids, but your older kids might like the thrill rides.

Don't get me wrong, I like AK and I recomend everyone try it once a trip (if they go for a week or so.) but if you only have 3 days I say save it for next time. We were there in March and did everything, then back again in May, but a spilt week with Vero Beach and we skipped AK. We did mgm on our last day (half day.)

Good luck. If you get there you can always change your mind too.
