I would say the BWI. You would have plenty of activity at night on the BW and easy access to 2 parks.

Have a great time with your DD!

I'd recommend one of the EPCOT resorts! BWI, BC, and YC are all walking distance to/from EPCOT and they have great ferry transportation that goes between the Boardwalk, BC/YC, Swan/Dolphin, and MGM. You might also check into the Swan/Dolphin.

I have stayed at several properties onsite, and really prefer this area for overall convenience. Given your dd's age, she'd probably really enjoy spending time at both Epcot and MGM -- and you can't beat this area for the sheer variety of restaurants and activities. I have stayed at both BW and BC, and think she'd be thrilled with either of those properties... YC is really nice, too. I've never stayed at the Swan/Dolphin, but I can't say I'd recommend them because they just feel more like convention hotels to me.

I have also heard wonderful things about AKL on this board... If your dd is a real animal lover, that might be a cool thing to do for her special trip! The only negative is that it's pretty cut off from the parks (except AK, of course), so there wouldn't be a lot of stuff to do right around your resort in the evening.

Happy planning,
Sarah

I've stayed at the Dolphin and WL myself with 4 yr old dd. I never felt "unsafe" at all. I am very familiar with WDW as we've stayed there numerous times which helps with comfort level.

WL was very nice and we were lucky to meet up with some friends staying at FW. I valeted the car everyday which made it much easier to visit other resorts for dinner and then go onto a park for an hour or 2 after.

The Dolphin is a little more convenient to us. We like EPCOT and MGM and they're both accessible by boat or walking. I walked her back in her stroller from MGM in December one night (one COLD night) around 9:30 and I really didn't feel like I had to constantly look over my shoulder. As long as your aware of your surroundings you should be fine.

So, to answer your question, I think any resort on WDW property is suitable, just depends which parks you'll be visiting more:D

Hey Mrs. mom have to agree with the others. My DD will only be 2 so the two of us are staying at WL to have access to MK. But an Epcot resort sounds like just the ticket for a 17 year old. What a great idea. Have fun.

When travelling alone, I like hotels with interior corridors, instead of motel style with outside doors. While I think you will BE safe at any Disney resort, you will FEEL safer at a deluxe resort that is not spread out in different buildings (like the moderates & all stars).

So :) I'd say YC or BC because the rooms have been redone recently, or AKL or WL because they are single buildings where you should feel very comfortable. My family loves AKL! It's not as exciting as the Epcot resorts, but the bus service is very good. WL & AKL are less expensive than the other deluxes.

Sounds like a great trip! Have fun planning! :)

My daughter's (now age 21) favorite is the Grand Floridian. We've stayed at almost all of the resorts and if she could pick every time, it would be GF! She loves the monorail and for her birthday every year we let her have a massage and facial at the Grand Floridian Spa. She loves it. She says looking at the Castle every night before she goes to bed makes it even more magical.
